We've planned a family trip for December for 16. Yes, I said 16. 10 adults, 6 kids; 6 altogether will be on their first trip.

We've got 2 2BDRMs and are w'listed for a studio, all at VWL. In the event the wl doesn't come through, we've made a room only ressie at the Lodge.

I'm a little nervous but this group has all vacationed together with minimal problems; some even at WDW. We know to split up and have the understanding that we don't always have to stay together.

With the exception of the Candlelight Processional Package, we've got all of our ADR's made and park days mapped out.

And I'm threatening to get us all matching t-shirts. :rolleyes1

What's the biggest group you've ever coordinated??

45 - everyone made their own hotel reservations. If we were staying in the same hotel, we asked to be close to X, Y & Z, etc.

We had people sign up for meals & tours. A fellow traveler kept a spreadsheet of who signed up for what. If you didn't want to eat with the group, you were responsible for your own reservations.

Worked very well.

We had 14 for mom's 85 th birthday party! All were adults' except 1 mid teen. We also did the Candlelight Processional, the first time for many of our guests, We had 1 two bedroom & 4 studios. It was wonderful!

We also did Epcot's international dinner and dessert party, and have some wonderful pictures of the group with Minnie and Goofy in their winter finest!

Have a great time!

14 for us in OCT for F&WF 2009
now in 2011 Oct F&WF it will be 18:thumbsup2

Wow- these numbers make me scared just thinking about them! DH and I went to MNSSHP last year with our friends. We are all in our early-mid twenties. There was only 7 of us and DH and I vowed to never travel with a group (or our friends..) again!

We had 2 connecting rooms at POP and did everything together- ate, parks, recreation, etc.

I'm sure that if we had all had separate rooms and occasionally did our own thing, our experience would've been much better!

This Oct. will be our third family trip. As the babies have arrived the group has grown and is now at 21. We will be at BWV for a week in a GV, a 2 bedroom and 2 - 1 bedrooms. We have only one ADR-- Chef Mickeys, one day planned for Sea World and we will all do MNSSHP one night. We will be going with the flow every day, doing parks and meals as the spirit moves us and will not often be all together for anything. We have golfers and non- golfers and we have young ones whose sleep needs will trump any pre-made plans. This kind of free-flow vacation may not work for others, but it has for us. We know that we will all be back some day so nothing MUST be done this time.

We had 16 for Thanksgiving in 2007. Would like to do in again but as the grandkids get older and the different school schedules, I think that was our last vacation to Disney as a family.

I organized a family get together in 2003 - 16 people traveled to help us celebrate our daughter's 16th birthday. So glad we did it, had a mix of together time and separate time, worked very well. Precious memories as 2 of the crew that came along have died.

Know the audience, and plan accordingly and you'll be fine.
Cheers

When dh and i got married in wdw there was a three day period when we had around over 50 family and friends ... That was crazy!Disney helped set up room blocks so that was no problem for me. But the week before we had around 18-22 of our family and some friends.

I made an itinerary in advance. I planned the dinners and asked who wanted to go and then made the adrs for that. Then i made an intinerary and gave everyone one, of what we were doing and wgere we would be. I had meeting places and times periodically .... It worked out very well. Some people csme to every park and every meal like our family bu some friends would come and go and meet us at the parks at the times and places on the schedule.

Everyone seemed to love it and i got lots of compliments because popke could hsng out but noone was forced to be with each other every second of the week.

Wow! My big trips have been nothing compared to these! Before we owned DVC, it was usually just my sister, my parents, and myself. So we'd only need one room at a moderate resort for the four of us. Our grandparents would come on some trips and they would just get another room.

Once my sister and I got older and had boyfriends, my parents finally decided to join DVC since they figured we'd need 2 bedrooms a lot in the future...especially since they knew my sister and I would be visiting WDW a lot more since we could afford it on our own and we'd be going with our own kids all the time.

So now we seem to go a lot with a group of 6. This past trip we had 7 - 6 adults and a 2 year old. That was the biggest group that I've organized to stay at our DVC villa.

I've also gone in high school for softball when there were probably close to 20 girls on the team + coaches and parents. But I had nothing to do with organizing those trips, so I don't know if that counts. Plus, it was more about softball than it was about WDW.

2005--24

8 in Beach Cottage @ Vero for 3 nights
8 3 night cruise

AND it is also the LAST BIG FAMILY trip I am planning, it is so much easier traveling with my friends:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

This July will be our 6th year in a row that we have gone with the same group of 22. It is family made up of people ages 65-5. We have adults, teens and children. We all have a great time and look forward to it every year. We go with the flow and everyone does their own thing, although we spend alot of time staying together because we enjoy it that way. For those that don't want to hang with the group, we have ADR's every evening for dinner so that we can all meet up. We all get along really well and have traveled together often so it works for us.

For us it was a group of 10 in four studios at BWV. Although some rooms were booked by my mom on her points, and some booked by us on our points.

In the fall of 2009, we did a family reunion at Animal Kingdom Villas Kidani. It was a total of 30 people that we had across four 2-bedroom villas.

We went with 15 people total, ages 2 to 71 this past April. We stayed in two 2 bedrooms and a studio at Kidani. Though there were some frustrations, all in all it was a great time. Our best day was actually the afternoon we had a character breakfast at Tusker House, rode the Safari all together and walked some of the animal trails and then returned to the resort for an afternoon at the pool. It was lovely.

Our largest was in 1999, 31 people, 3 - 2BR units and 3 - studios at OKW.
The last trip with the 'free passes'

We are limited by the fact that I absolutely will not share a space with anyone else. Did it once and I hated it. Not even the non-dedicated lock-out room is acceptable.

So 10 is the most I have ever been able to afford point-wise.
