What's the biggest group you've taken?

We have done 17 spread across 6 studios. I am also not one who is happy sharing space; every adult has to have their own private sleeping area.

Okay, I wasn't kidding when I said I was threatening to make us all t-shirts. But in case that becomes cost-prohibitive, did any of you do anything else for the folks in your party?

They're all staying on our DVC points so DH and I always feel like we're "hosting" You know, they're staying at our house.... :rotfl:

Small gifts or tokens to say "welcome"?

Every two years when we have our LARGE group get together, we do buttons. We thought about t shirts but we have some people who will not wear them. Polos, yes, t shirts, no.

Our largest one is coming in Feb. 2012 for an anniversary celebration, we will have 24 family members spread between a Grand Villa, a 2-Bedroom, and 2 studios. We are in a studio because we love our privacy, but also enjoy sharing with our extended family. :goodvibes

Up to this point, 12 in a 2bedroom and a studio.
Our upcoming trip in July was going to be 16 people in 2 2bedrooms, but now only 13.
Our son's engagement came to an end so down 1 person. The main purpose of the trip was to celebrate my parent's 50th wedding anniversary, but unfortunately my Dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer in January and has been in the hospital most of the time since. He is too weak to travel now. My Mom and I are his primary care takers when he is not in the hospital, so I am going to go the first week then fly home so she can go the second week. I insisted that she go because she really needs a break. We are doing the best we can in a difficult situation.

We've had parties of 18, 11, and 9 stay with us...
It was all planned out well, everyone respected eachothers vacations, and all was excellent! :thumbsup2

I hope that your trip offers both you and your mom a chance to celebrate life and family. I know how grueling if can be to be the primary care giver.

My group of 13 looks small compared to others. At the time two grandbaby's 5 and 12 months old, everyone else 19 to 56. We had 1-1bedroom and 1-2 bedroom for the first 4-days, 1-1bedroom and 3 studios the last four days.

Having the studios was a plus as the last four days one couple was sick and were able to have more privacy.

I the future we will likely get 1-2 bedroom for two couples plus 1 unmarried daughter, then a studio for each couple.

We took 19 - one GV and two studios at OKW plus another 4 over at the camp grounds

In Oct. of 2010 we took our entire family. There were 10 of us, 6 adults and 4grandkids. We stayed in a Grand Villa at BLT and had a great time. We want so much to do it again but the logistic and cost(we paid) are just to much. We are though trying to get another one together for maybe 2013. The bigger problem now is getting the kids out of school at the same time. We refuse to go in the summer. Its just too crowded and hot and this next time the kids are going to have to chip in on the cost. Having said that, it was the best vacation we have ever taken and I am so happy we were able to do it....smjj

Wow! Some very impressive numbers here! Makes our group of 13 seem easy. We travel with both of our grown children's families so it makes us 6 adults and 7 kids (from 1 to 12 years old). We go every two years to make if affordable and also give a year for everyone to do their own thing. The only thing I can say are I have PRICELESS memories of my grandchildren at every age at WDW that I wouldn't trade for any amount of money!:goodvibes

Pray you are able to enjoy your trip in spite of the difficult circumstances. My Mom is in the last stages of Alzheimer's so I completely understand how you feel. All plans are made with the knowledge they could change at the last minute! I have some great memories of WDW trips with my parents and I hope you do too. It soothes the pain when they can't go any more! :grouphug:
