What's the best thing to do after the fireworks?

I'm hoping that the kids will not want to see Fantasmic, since we just saw it at WDW in October. We usually try to catch a few rides in Fantasyland after the fireworks, but now that the kids are older - and love the big rides - I'm curious to find out what else people do? What have you found to be the best thing to do?

We're most likely going to try Nemo right before the park closes to get on that.

I've always loved the Fantasyland rides so I hit them after the fireworks. I prefer to do those late because the lines usually move very quickly which is nice at the end of a long day. Sometimes the bigger rides can have shorter waits later, sometimes not.

We like to do Splash and BTMRR repeatedly at night after the fireworks.

Even if you've seen Fantasmic at WDW you should still see it at DL. I've heard it's different and better. F! is one of my favorite things to do. :) But, we don't do it every time, if we don't do it then we usually do FL or Pirates, Indy, HM.

Well, that would be interesting to see! I thought it was okay at WDW, but not something that I'd wait to see again. We'll see what the kids want to do. If they want to see it, then we'll wait for the 2nd show, for sure.

I'll let the kids know and leave the option open for them to choose what they want to do. The trip is for them, after all ... :rolleyes1

I definitely agree with the other poster about Fantasmic being better at Disneyland, but that's just my personal preference. There are a few reasons why I think its better including atmosphere of Rivers of America, different (and one great) vignettes, and its a little shorter.

Besides that, I like to go to Splash Mountain and ride that a couple of times, or to Fantasyland and wait till the rope drops to get onto Peter Pan's flight.

So if after the fireworks, and a bunch of people are waiting for the 2nd showing of Fantasmic... how bad are the lines for standby with Thunder Mtn?

I don't remember them being too bad between the showings of Fantasmic! Its usually around 20 minutes if I remember correctly. Usually, I ride Splash Mountain, because everyone doesn't want to get wet that late at night :)

I have heard that BTMRR, Matterhorn and FL Canal Boats are all must-do's at night, since they are almost like a whole 'nother ride in the dark. :thumbsup2 I'm definitely going to try them, this next go-round!

I had my best Jungle Cruise experience ever at night, but we also got an incredibly funny skipper (and that's a rarity these days). ;)

We've never done the Jungle Cruise or BTMRR at night! Go figure. I'll have to add that to our list. But we once did Storybook Canals - the lines were horrible but it was worth the wait. It is so special at night.

Years ago my sisters & I were on the Matterhorn when the Fireworks were going off - now that was a blast! We didn't time it that way, it just happened.

Thanks for your input - now it's back to packing. We leaver very e-a-r-l-y tomorrow morning. I'll be sure to let you know what we end up doing!
