Do you think they were joking when they made a comment about everyone on this thread not being able to afford Poly? I'm not joking about the fact that THEIR comment is very rude! But I probably shouldn't have bothered commenting back.

That post was a joke - don't get all bent out of shape for nothing.

Why is it okay for you to make comments on what other people can afford? I'm not personally attacking anyone. I just don't think what you wrote was funny and I think it's rude. I think your snarky comment is also against the rules too. I didn't blow it out of proportion, just saying what you wrote what was uncalled for on a Disney thread about the Poly. JMHO. Have a nice day!

Just ignore posts you don't like. The comment you are so upset about was a joke, which is hardly against the rules. Most people got it.

Seriously, as someone who dreamed for years about staying at the
Polynesian, I didn't take any offense to your comment. I have been
lucky enough to stay there twice in the past year, but will likely not
be choosing to spend the money to stay there again. Too many other
resorts to try!
And I do love the scent in the lobby as well. Can't wait for next month,
when we'll dine at Kona & 'Ohana--yahoo!

I love the smell of the Poly.. its one of those distinct smells that I look forward to each trip, that lets me know I am really here!!! If only I could afford to stay there!!!!!

LOL Awesome! Where can I buy this particular scent at? If they are precrushed then does it count as pixie dust?

Disclaimer: I have only eaten at the Poly, I have never stayed there as a guest before.

Well you're all in luck!! I've personally been producing that scent since 2007 (the first time I can actually remember going to the Poly and saying "I want to stay here") It looks like I've finally found a steady source of other Poly dreams so now I can make the scent commercially available.

While I can't tell you all the secrets, I can let you in on some of the process. My Poly dreams are crushed by hand in an antique Mickey themed mortar and pestle, adding stale pixie dust just a sprinkle at a time (obviously can't use fresh!) The dreams are then carefully stewed, with a touch of grumbling and just a soupcon of mumbling. I'm looking to expand into other hotel scents, like Beach Club and Boardwalk.
