Sox and Cubs face off at Fenway tonight

It has been 93 years since these two teams have faced off at Fenway.

Last time was the 1918 World Series. The 1918 World Series was the 5th win for the Sox, as they beat the Cubs in 6 games.

This was also only WS to be played entirely in September, due to WWI, as well as the first time “The Star Spangled Banner” was played at an MLB game, to show patriotic spirit for the war.

the red sox went to wrigley a few years ago, but this is the first time the cubs have been the fenway since the start of the curse of the bambino. that was the last world series we won, before 2004.
