What's it like in May

Staying at the OKW May 21-28. Can anyone tell me what to expect this time of year? Realizing it's the "big celebration", do you think the crowds will be like mid June and July?

I was ther ein mid-may 2003.I was great. Not crowded at all .It will probably be a bit more crowded this year..I'm a big baby and it was pretty hot..We went back to the hotel midday and swam,then went back to the parks in the late afternoon.. I'm going back this year April 29th-May 7th

This will be our first trip to the World in May. I have heard that its a great time to go but I am a little nervous about the crowds with the celebration starting the day before we arrive. I have been very spoiled due to that our time to usually go is in Sept. Oct or Dec. when crowds have been VERY low (5 minutes to walk on for rides) Dont think this trip will be that way. But...it is Disney World and will have a great time regardless!

IMO, May is the best time of year to go. We have been in January, April, May, July, August, and October. I personally love May the best because of the weather and the lower crowds. Even though there will be more crowds this year because of the celebration, I would not let it get you down. We are looking forward to seeing all of the new attractions (especially soarin'). We also think that the flower and garden festival at Epcot is spectacular. Enjoy your trip, you will have a blast. We will be there May 14-21, can't wait!

We will be taking our first trip in May as well (6-11). I would love to know how busy people think the first weekend will be with the Celebration starting.

Before our kids started school, early May was one of our favorite times to visit due to lower crowds and comfortable (not sweltering) weather. With the 50th celebration, crowds may be larger than usually, but school is still in session so overall volume will still be less than mid/late June thru August. Memorial Weekend is usually busy, but looks like you will be gone by then. Have a great time!
