So I think we overdid the easter baskets this year. Just curious what the Bunny is bringing others out there.....just candy, few little treats, big ticket items...?

I had a kid in my class tell me she was hoping the Easter Bunny would bring her a laptop!!! :confused3  She said her and her dad were going to look at them and then go tell the easter bunny which one. Thank goodness my DD wasn't in class with me that day- don't want her getting any ideas! :lmao: Another thing I found odd was, when we went to see the bunny, the family in front of us told their daughter "tell him what you want" as she was starting to get up. I didn't realize he was like Santa???

Anyway, we didn't go to that extreme, but we did do more than baskets and trinkets. So what did you do?

This year I tried to do less candy (it seems there is always so much hanging around for weeks after Easter - same as after Halloween - and either I'm the one who eats it or I end up throwing it away). So I got books, Disney Dollars, cute little bracelets for DDs and a small Lego set for DS, tshirts from the Disney Store, and Webkinz. And in the end I did get some candy - one chocolate bunny for each, Peeps, jelly beans, and chocolate eggs.

I did webkinz, jewelry, lip gloss, and candy, and stuffed bunnies, stuffed peeps, and a load of other stuff, the totally don't need. I just got done setting up a treasure hunt...

We are leaving for Florida on Tuesday and DH and I vowed ot to blow a munch of money on Easter baskets - most of the stuff is crap and or they foret about hours later... We did some chocolate, peeps, solid milk choc. bunnies, hid some eggs and candy, rain ponchos, Diney sunglasses, a couple small toys, Disney Dollars and thats about it. From us, the kids each picked out a few things - DS3 picked out a cheap MP3 player and set of cars from KBToys. DS8 picked out a Nintendo DS game ($35!! needless to say -thats all he got!!! :) ), and DS18mo got a Mickey Phone and some swimmies. They all got penty of nw cloths and shoes for our tip and for the price we paid for our Disney part of the vacation - I think they made out a-ok!! we couldnt see a point n breang te bank - its not christmas and things seem to be over looked by the gimme-gimme/I want-Iwant factor by kids these days. Our new motto is crap free and we ask ourselves what the day/event is really about?? Just my 2 cents! Thanks for reading! :wizard: :surfweb:

Peeps, gum-ball egg, a few of my stash of Cadbury minieggs, chocolate bunny and some jelly beans.

DD got an AG outfit ($10 clearance, whoo hoo) and a bunny Littlest Pet Shop set ($12 down to $2, store was goign out of business.)

DS got a couple packs of Pirate cards and a little nerf type sling shot.

I had a few other things, but opted to save them as bribes, I mean, treats for the ride down to WDW. They have some little presents in a box from Grandma and Gammie will likely bring stuff for at dinner tomorrow too.

goodness...when I was little the easter bunny brought jelly beans and chocolate eggs and that's about it...OH and those horrible tasting hollow bunnies with the sugar eyes! I loved them though.

Here in New Jersey, Easter is a pastel themed CHRISTMAS! It's nuts.

We tried to tone it down a bit this year...not a lot of candy. The Easter Bunny is bringing Enchanted for my step daughter (8) and Snow Buddies for my step son (5)...both kids got The Velveteen Rabbit...chapter book form for SD8 and a GORGEOUS picture book form for SS5! We also found some Littlest Pets in Easter Eggs. So both kids get three Littlest Pet eggs. I also got a High school musical headband/sock set for SD8 and a POTC undies and sock set for SS5...which the Easter Bunny put into Eggs!:rotfl:

Both kids also get $10 in Disney Dollars to put in their Disney jar for August!

Geez...guess we didn't tone it down too much did we?!

Well lucky for me the Dollar Tree just opened up this month here! WAHOO!! haha They had some cool little Disney things. so it was a total score. I got her, oh wait... The "Easter Bunny" got her a princess jumprope, some little Disney jewels, Mickey Mouse club house puzzle, bubbles, Disney kaleidoscope (its so little!) a yo yo, some really cool sensory stuff. some jelly beans. I think there is a few more little items and one smaller Stuff bunny. You know like she needs more, but hey She always needs one for Easter! Oh yes, and a Barbie magazine with the new Barbie movie. That was the most pricey thing. Enchanted was suppose to be in there, but I couldn't wait! Bwahaha yeah nice huh? I wanted to watch.

We didn't really do much candy. I didn't find much sugar free stuff except the jelly beans. I think I will post a picture of the basket when its all set up!

Our kids don't get to request anything for Easter. They always get some small present. Try to keep it under $10. This year the older 3 got flip flops from the Disney Store and the baby got a Mickey Hat. I went a little over board on the candy, bought too much of what I like :rotfl: They're getting a chocolate bunny, Peeps, jelly beans, malted milk balls, and pastel M&Ms.

Happy Easter to all.

The Easter Bunny is not :santa:

My kids are still really little (3 and 10 months) so they don't get much candy 1 hollow bunny (the baby got one but most likely my husband and I will eat the majority of it) and my 3 year old got some mini candy bars and some m&m's and my 10 month old got mini m & m's. The 3 year old also got a princess bathtub playset thing (They're foam and stick to the walls and have chalk) and the 10 month old got a Thomas the train that chugs and whisles (I think it's actually Percey he got but I can't really remember at the moment). Now from my parents and my husband's mom who knows what the kids will get. They grandparents go way overboard and my husband and I end up eatting most of the candy and that takes awhile (The kids don't get a lot of sweets).

I went a little overboard on the baskets, but that's OK! I just have one DS (age 3), so he makes out like a bandit! He's getting a Handy Manny magnetic playset, the New Handy Manny DVD, the ZGo, Diego, Go Wii game, a chocolate bunny, jellybeans, peeps, a coloring book, an easter book, a puzzle, and a few little dollar store items. My Dh is getting jellybeans, Cadbury Caramel eggs, and an iTunes gift card in his basket and I got myself a basket with jellybeans, Cadbury Creme eggs, iTunes card, and a USB flash drive! I had fun making up the baskets this year and I decided to include me and DH in on the fun, too!!

ok Sooo yeah.. when you need two baskets I think I did go a wee bit overboard! bwahahahaha but she will love it. and what can I say, most everthing from the Dollar store so it was not to costly. Except the movie.

DDs and I got Minnie Mary Jane Crocs (pink!), I got Enchanted, hubby got the Lord of the Rings trilogy soundtrack, DDs got Webkinz, WK mousepads, toothbrushes, the obligatory big chocolate bunny, some bubbles, some other keychain/candy toy, and a bunch of sharing chocolate (that we'll leave with hubby to eat at home while DDs and I head out on our 3 week trip next week), oh, and peeps.

DD4 is getting Enchanted dvd, a new pair of sunglasses, a little baby bratz doll with animals that look like pet shop animals, a new barbie book, a chocolate bunny, a Easter bag of M&M's and Easter bag of kisses a lip gloss and some finger nail polish.
DD2 is getting the 2nd Peterpan movie, the name escapes me right now, and the same as her sister except her book is a Princess book.
DS1 is getting a Lightening McQueen shake and roar car, a little Goofy stuffed animal, a pair of Car sunglasses, a echo microphone, some match box cars and a book about the farm, where you put a pic of him in it so it looks like he's on the farm, and the same candy as his sisters.

DD got a big stuffed bunny and some trinkets(party favor type) and candy.
DS got a huge box of slim jims (from BJ"S) and a reeses bunny.
We're also having 6 nieces and nephews here today, so we made them all little baskets with party favor type things from walmart and candy. The trinkets were bubble necklaces, paddles with balls attached and Barbies for all the girls and planes for the boys (they were about $5/ea at walgreens).

I did get DD Enchanted, but she saw it in the bag so we watched it right away.:rotfl2:

We vowed for a no candy Easter at home as the kids just had St. Patty's day parties and Easter parties at school. So far so good, but we still have the grandparents houses and their baskets usually contain candy.

DD12 got a tink shirt with fancy mechincal pencils, bubbles, and disney dollars 5)

DD7 got a Hannah Montanna shirt, tinkerbelle pencils, bubbles and disney dollars (5)

DD6 got a Hannah Montanna shirt, winnie the pooh pencils, bubbles, and disney dollars (5)

Easter baskets are like Christmas Stockings they get stuffed around here.
DD (12) got a Webkins Bunny, a bubble blowing dog (she thought he was cute!), a Dale Jr. water bottle, Carolina Tarheels hat (go Heels!!), some panties from Aeropostale that have chicks on them, and all her candy is green (her favorite color) m&m's, peeps, jelly beans, ring pops and a chocolate bunny!
DS (2) got a Webkins Frog, Wiggles DVD, Spiderman bubble blowing gun, chocolate bunny, lego Star Wars t-shirt. I bought new "baskets" this year, they are actually plastic drink tubs from Target..lime green for DD and blue for DS..at $3.99 each they were cheeper than the baskets I fell in love with at Pottery Barn Kids!
DH got a basket too, it's actually a metal paint bucket..but it works. His is mostly candy and a new Carolina Tarheel hat.

The bunny forgot me this year..mom's do all the work and I didn't buy myself anything.

DS got two Easter baskets this morning - one from "our" EB and one from my inlaw's EB. ;)

In ours he got a Cars towel, Veggietales movie, musical instruments, a butterfly puppet, a bunny, a chocolate bunny, eggs, candy, and a new train for his train table.

From my inlaws EB lots and lots of stickers (they know we are leaving for Disney next week and stickers entertain him GREATLY at restaurants!), Cat in the Hat dvds, Hop on Pop, Bunny Webkins, a chocolate bunny, playdough, and some other little odds and ends.

all my kids got a movie- DD- Enchanted; DS6 Bee Movie; DS3 nick Jr 6 best episodes. DS's got $25 each in Disney dollars for our upcoming trip and they bothe got beachtowels 2/$20 from disney store and flipflops 2/$9 all 3 got a small stuffed animal and they all got their choc bunnies and all the other candy! DD 15 got a $25 Hot topic gift card; and 2 teeshirts from there- one of them is a Disney couture? of the evil queen and then a miffy bag from there also. She also got some new makeup. The DS's got a train-table set to share.

All of kids got t-shirts from the disney store, sunglasses, the older two got flip-flops and a mix click camera. The baby got some baby einstein videos. A couple of pieces of candy and that's it. I also spilled the beans this morning about Santa, Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy. I'm a bad mommy this morning, but I figured dd8 already knew and if I told her I would have to tell ds6. They have been told not to tell anyone at school or their little sister.

We don't go overboard with the baskets. We don't do the Easter Bunny so my kids knew they were getting them from me and my dd4 picked hers out. The each got bubbles, a flexible rabbit, a Pez disppenser, 3 bouncy balls, 2 small chocolate bunnies, a chocoate sucker and a Tootsie Roll Bank. Dd4 got a bracelet and necklace and 6 eggs with the mini. Little Ponies in them and dsd6 got a Drop Popz, Spongebob candy dispenser and 6 eggs with Imaginex creatures to go with his castle. They've been to 3 egg hunts over the last couple of weeks (and will have another at church today) so they've had a huge amount of candy already.
