Hi Everyone , DW and I just booked the 4 night cruise to Bahamas leaving May 9th. Our flight arrives in Orlando at 9 am . I'm assuming I would get the Disney shuttle to Port Canaveral shortly after our arrival. Is there anything to do in Canaveral while waiting to board ? I think we may have over 2-1/2 hours to kill and would welcome any suggestions or points of interest to occupy our time.
How often do the Disney shuttles run to Canaveral?
Looking forward to some replies.

Thank You

You won't have 2 1/2 hours to kill. If you arrive at MCO at 9...boarding starts at 11:45, so I guess that's how you've figured over 2 1/2 hours.

However....you will need to get off the plane, meet the DCL reps, and go to the bus. The bus will leave MCO about 9:30. It takes 45 minutes to get to the port, so you'll arrive about 10:15 (a few minutes after the port opens), and go thru security and document checks. Then you will need to check in for the cruise. You'll probably finish all of this in the range of 10:45 - 11:00 (the counters open for check in at 10:30). Then, you will have about a 45 minute wait till boarding starts.

During this time, you can study a model of the ship, a map of cruise routes built into the floor....pose for pictures with Disney characters, watch Disney cartoons and movies, or have a snack in the snack bar. I really think that your "wait" time after you have accomplished all the necessary functions will be no more than an hour. Of course, it takes a little time to board as there is a security check similar to the airport screening. The time will pass quickly.

I agree. You should go straight to the port....do not stop at go. Go directly to the port and let your vacation begin...stress free. Once you have your ressies arranged you can relax on board with plenty of things to do before the boat sails.:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

We like arriving at the port bright and early. We take Happy Limo and fly in the night before, so we usually get there right around opening time. But no matter how early we are, the time totally flies by the minute we step over the threshhold. Hubby and I have made it a traditional to start off with a beverage from R. E. Fresh's (the coffee bar). If you want to get a good place in line, have one person in your family stake out your spot and stay with the luggage while the others explore. Nobody will mind because lots of people do it.
