What's Great About An Alaskan Cruise? Need Convincing...

We did an Alaskan cruise when my dd was 6yrs old. We've done 4 Caribbean cruises with Disney so far, which we loved. We had just as much fun on the Alaskan cruise. If you haven't been on the Wonder, then that's another reason to go on the cruise. Although it doesn't have the Aquaduck, mini golf, or the mid-ship detective game like the Dream/Fantasy, it is still a great ship. We sailed on the Wonder twice, when my dd was 6 and again when she was 8. She liked the kid's club more on the Wonder than the one on the Fantasy. The Frozen show is amazing. We have another Caribbean cruise booked for next year, I doubt we'll go on another Alaskan since it's more expensive, but I would love to go there again.

We are Canadians (Vancouver) and just got off our 2nd Disney Alaskan cruise yesterday. The scenery hands down is one of the reasons we love it so much. Once you've seen one beach, one island you've seen them all in the Carribean. And weather can be so different in Alaska. It was sunny and warm the entire week for us, but just a week or two prior it had been pouring with rain. We don't care, the scenery is amazing and since we've sailed it twice (once good weather, once bad) I honestly can't tell you which cruise was better, they were both fantastic!!!

We went to AK at the end of May/beginning of June last year and the weather was glorious. I am generally cold-natured, but didn't take a coat. I was in long sleeve tshirts or a light Columbia fleece most days. When I needed a little extra, I wore a lightweight vest. No need for heavy coat. I did wear a knit hat several days, but really more for the look than the need. Took gloves but didn't wear them.
The scenery is breathtaking. The excursions were a blast and so was talking to the locals. Other than that cruise, all 6 of our previous cruises had been tropical, so it was a really nice change.
