We'll be going to WCT with DH's family next week. We've never been there so does anyone have any suggestions for what to order? I know I've heard several people say they liked the Pizzeta Salad but it has blue cheese and the wrong type of olives, bleh, so I don't think that will work for me. Has anyone gotten one of the lasagnas there or maybe soup and salad? Oh decisions, decisions. :)

Seriously we were not sold on the Pizaette salad its salad on a hunk of bread that tastes like onion bagel. Not our fav.

I love the Caprese Sandwhich but that is me, my sister though swears by the lasanga as does another friend. Overall I find the food at WCT to be very good and the prices seem to be better then many places in the parks.

I haven't tried those, but the meatball sandwich with mozzarella cheese on top is good, as are the breadsticks they bring to the table while you wait for your food.

The lasagna is great! Honestly most everything on the menu is good. Have a great time.

And have a glass of the Magicale wine :lovestruc mmmmmmmmmmmm....... The dip/spread that comes with the bread is yummy!

When we went I had the Tuscan Salad and DBF had the Caprese Sandwich. We enjoyed both of them very much and would go there again and order the same thing!

We also had the orange sorbet for dessert and it was super delish!

All those things sound really good! Glad to hear that everyone thinks most of the food is good there. Can't wait to try it out!

Sherry, I'm not sure I believe you about the breadsticks. ;) So far I haven't found any that come close to the yumminess of the ones at Pat and Oscars. So we'll see.......

Thanks everyone!

One more question, for those of you that like the lasagna, which one did you get? They have 3 different choices, a "regular" one, an alfredo one and a veggie one.

I might have thought they were better than they were because I was starving at the time they were brought out!! They should have been warm and they were not, BUT they were very flavorful. No getting around that. I did not eat the sun dried tomato spread that came with them. Funny thing is, the first time I ate at WCT, I think they brought out boring rolls for us, so I was surprised to see the breadsticks in December (served but two cute waiters, which didn't hurt!:lmao::goodvibes). I usually don't eat plain rolls, but breadtsicks are good!:thumbsup2

Oh dear, the breadsticks aren't warm? Hmm....see?....Pat and Oscars - warm, tasty and oh so addicting. :cloud9: Maybe I'll still like the flavor of these ones though. I hope they're at least better than the ones at Olive Garden (bleh). The dip that comes with them sounds yummy. Can't wait to try them and judge for myself!

Yes, LP, the biggest downer about the bread is that it is cold. Not just room temp, but cold. It would be so much better warm. Anyway, the regular and alfredo lasagna are both delicious, but I am partial to the pizzeta salad. And if you partake in alcohol, the wines are very good.:thumbsup2

One of the best things about WCT is the atmosphere. It reminds you of being in the wine country and it is very relaxing, we like it outside.

To me I would either get the alfredo or veggie. The alfredo sauce sounds really good and I would have to be in the mood for chicken. If not I would get the veggie because I love love eggplant!

Yeah, I don't understand the concept behind cold breadsticks. It just seems obvious to me that you would serve them warm. :confused3 Thanks for the lasagna recommendatins.

I actually grew up in the wine country (Sonoma County) so it will be interesting to see how it compares to the real thing!

Hmmm... I see I have some more deciding to do. Even if I decide on lasagna, I'll have to decide which one!

They have the best minestrone soup! So delicious, all other minestrone has been ruined for me.

Wine Country Trattoria is my favorite DLR restaurant simply because of that soup. We ate there twice on our last trip because we didn't know if we'd ever have a chance to eat there again.

Now you are making me want those Oscar breadsticks. Those are the best!

When you go you can report back if this is somewhere we should go this summer. Like I need pretend I'm in the Wine Country! :rotfl: But still, it is something different than burgers.

Yeah, you can drive 8 hours to see a pretend wine country! :rotfl2: I'll let you know what we think of it.

We haven't had Pat and Oscar's breadsticks in awhile. For some reason DH doesn't think they are anything special. I know, crazy, huh. Wish I had one now!
