Anyone know why nearly every hotel is sold out? If it's not sold out it's crazy expensive! The only thing I can find in walking distance is the Fairfield Inn and it's $295/night. CRAZY!!!!!!

I checked the convention center, and they do have some event going on, maybe that's it?

I just found out it is because of a convention in town. Oh man, it is going to be crazy. The Annabella offered to put me on their waiting list, I would be #25!

The Natural Products Expo is happening at the Anaheim Convention Center (March 6 to 8). From the reports last year, it sounds like this is a huge convention.

Yes, the Natural Foods Expo is a huge trade show. Last year it had over 60,000 attendees. We were heading down I-5 to Disneyland a couple days before the start of the trade show and saw truck after truck carrying products for it.

It's crazy isn't it?? I ended up wanting to add a night to our reservation and couldn't find anything decent. So we now have hotel reservations for 3 different hotels. What a pain!

Do you know if this convention falls on the same weekend every year? I'm trying to plan for 2016.

We decided just to drive down super early Saturday morning. I had no problem finding a room for Sat and Sun night, Friday is the problem. I'm glad I figured it out because I thought OMG if DL is going to be so busy that almost every hotel is sold out, do we even want to go?!? Fortunately that is not the case!

Totally bummed that all of critter country will be closed though

We are paying $687 a night at GCH when last year the same weekend we paid $375/night!

I was unaware this was such a busy weekend and didn't bother to check for a convention

Thanks Geemo for the Anaheim Convention schedule - that's extremely helpful!!:cheer2:

For those planning long or short range and want to have an idea of what MIGHT be happening during various dates, check out these links.

figment jii is taking the reigns this year for "2015 Calendar of Events & School Breaks and DLR "

I did a similar thread last year.

These are only for the last two years. You'll see many similarities, not only in events but the school calendars too. Also figment jii has included links to other points of interest related to the thread.

Take a few minutes to review everything. They may answer a few questions. Or even bring up something you might not have thought of.

Thanks for the link, looks like it falls right on the days I'm planning for next year:worried:. I hope those of you who will be in the parks during the convention this year will report back on the crowd levels.

I can report back this year! Last year was pretty decent on crowd levels. This is a trade show for the natural food and product industry. I attend every year for work and my family goes with. We are AP holders from NorCal and work puts us up at the California Grand for 5 nights!!! :cool1:

There might be the cheerleading and dance thing at DCA that weekend as well! It's usually around that time in March, first weekend.

The JR Spirit Championship that is usually held at the Hyperion/Aladdin Theater, is on February 28 and March 1 this year. The United Spirit Association meeting (at the Anaheim Convention Center) is on March 20 through 22.

The Grand?! Nice! My work would put me in the the nearest roach motel:rotfl2:. Please report back, my kids have an early spring break next year for the first time ever, so I'm hoping to arrive March 5, 2016.
