I'm not sure what it all means but I know his coaches have always praised his form & technique when teaching others the proper way to pitch. He doesn't throw hard but he's got a lot of junk. I'm sure Bob will know what that means.;)

Your dinner looked fantastic, I'm going to have to try that asparagus recipe!! I noticed you said you had artichokes, I've been looking all over for them and can't find any good ones!

Johnny just went to pick up our take out from Tennou - Sushi, Squid salad, Teriyaki Beef & Shrimp and Tempura Shrimp & Veggies, can't wait!!!!

Kathy, I spent big bucks for the artichokes at WF! 2 for $5!!! I know ridiculous. Every grocery has them right now but they look so crummy.

TV ALERT!

This Samantha Brown show was one of four shows which will air for the next three Friday nights at the same time!!:goodvibes

We watched it last night, thanks for the tip! I want to be there NOW!

I had hot dogs and chocolate for dinner. :rotfl: I went to Bingo at my godsons school and they have these people who have a candy making business who come to all of the events there. I always have to get the caramel chocolate turtles which are actually made with a turtle mold and the inside is a caramel pecan. oh so good!

And I won a door prize! :woohoo: A sample of Nexis shampoo and conditioner and a travel pack of bandaids! :rotfl: Not sure what that was about!

That sounds like a school fundraiser dinner for sure! At least you can always count on a good dessert!:goodvibes

Good Morning! A's team lost again...BUT he hit the ball twice but got out on first and the other was a fly caught by short stop...he's is improving over time!!!

They had opening day ceremonies last night too. He won a $50 cert to the sporting goods store. On a sad note, they had a tribute to our HS coach...he passed away in his sleep the night before. His son's threw out the first pitch. There was not a dry eye. :sad1:

Sheryl, your dinner looks great!

Have a great day all!

Glad to here that Andrew is really getting into the swing of things! ;) :goodvibes

:cheer2: for A!! I'm sure he'll continue to get better.:thumbsup2 So sorry about the coach, that must have been very sad.

No cooking for me tonight, we're going to a crawfish boil after Kyle's game this afternoon. Today is Senior Day, it's the last regular season home game and the seniors will be honored. The parents escort their boys out onto the field and the Moms get flowers. I've got plenty of kleenex ready.:sad1:

Kathy, Enjoy the day, it's definitely a very special one! This is one of those days, that the memories will last forever! :goodvibes

Nancy, Glad that you're feeling well today! You have a very good daughter, making sure you don't overdo it. I'm sure she has to watch you like a hawk! Good job Marissa!:thumbsup2

Becky, Your dinner looks wonderful!! I think John was right on, gobbling up all of that steak!!

Wendie, Hope your boy is feeling a little better today.

We have the French Quarter Fest this weekend, we wanted to go, but I'm not feeling up to all of that walking today. :sad1: So I think we'll just stay home. Becky has me craving steak for sure now, so dinner will probably be steak, artichokes & some kind of potatoes.

Tonight we're going to a "swanky cocktail party" says the invite. Friend's 40th birthday celebration, she and her hubby hobnob with lots of impressive people so we were very honored to get an invite.

I figure it'll have heavy hor deurves at least, right? It's at 7pm. I think we'll get a small snack prior just in case. If nothing else, there will be a bar ;)

I've got my cute cocktail dress but need to find shoes today.

 Good thing you have kleenex. I love Senior night. It is so exciting for the seniors, but bittersweet for parents. Enjoy your son's special night and take lots of pictures.

I wish I was as energentic as all of you think I am. I still have boxes of crap in my office and the spare room. I am trying though. I started doing some of the Flylady dot net stuff this past week and let me tell you, I feel a bit more organized or on top of things already. I really like the plan they have.

***********

I love Flylady. Lauren, I swear I got more done when I worked but once I was home I somehow fall behind. Makes no sense but there it is. I just have to pay attention to the missions, once I stop checking them I fall behind again. I have been able to get rid of most of my hotspots though. Good luck.

here is a photo of our dinner last night...I made fajitas-chicken and flank steak. John was very bad and ate almost all of that steak! I have lots of leftovers of everything else:

Becky- I would have polished that steak off too. My goodness it looks so good!

Have a good time this evening.

Tonight the girls are going to fix meatball grinders for dinner. They are sticking to WW dinners and a big salad. I am making nothing,, just going to eat :thumbsup2

Laura came over today because I have to go to my inlaws tomorrow for my SIL's birthday. My Mom cooked and we had salad, bruschetta, and three kinds of ravioli--cheese, spinach, and mushroom...in a marinara sauce. I love my parents but really hate their recipe for marinara...all I can taste is peppers. No photos, because it annoys them.

Thanks for the nice words on the steak everyone, that was my first time cooking a flank steak and I was worried because it only marinated for 30 minutes, but John said it was awesome.

Now, after eating all that bread and ravoli, John has decided that tonight is the time of year when I try on all my clothes and we cull my closet. I guess the good news is that skinny Laura is going to get a lot of new wardrobe additions!

And I won a door prize! :woohoo: A sample of Nexis shampoo and conditioner and a travel pack of bandaids! :rotfl: Not sure what that was about!

Maybe it was supposed to be a vacation toiletry set? :confused3

WFD- Fried panko coated Mahi-Mahi, corn on the cob, and salad.

Yum, Ann. Thanks for the recipe. Sounds great!

Good Morning! A's team lost again...BUT he hit the ball twice but got out on first and the other was a fly caught by short stop...he's is improving over time!!!

Yay! I am sure he will continue to improve. That is sad about the coach.

I tear-up at everything too. It's embarrassing, really.

I hope you all had a memorable time. One of my favorite senior memories was at my Father/Daughter dance. They played "Shout" and my dad leaned in and whispered, "I probably shouldn't get on the floor to do the turtle." (like in Animal House) He then proceeded to do the turtle standing up.

I would settle for a Liam's neighbor, and I would do the dishes for that food!

There's a house for sale in my neighborhood. ;) I'm so glad you are feeling okay today!

Tonight we're going to a "swanky cocktail party" says the invite. I've got my cute cocktail dress but need to find shoes today.

That's the thing with these parties, isn't it? You always have to go buy something. My neighbor invited me to a dinner party on Friday, which I am happy to attend, but my wardrobe is more run-the-kids-around, do-the-laundry type clothes than dinner party material. I hope you had a great time.

I just have to pay attention to the missions, once I stop checking them I fall behind again. I have been able to get rid of most of my hotspots though. Good luck.

Sounds like I need to check this out too. I am so disorganized sometimes. I have some really good weeks, but then I get busy (or lazy :rolleyes1 ) and CHAOs (Can't Have Anyone Over) rules again!

Maybe I won't need to go shopping this week afterall! I'm not getting my hopes up though. Most of what John culls is stuff that Becky bought that is way too big for her.

I am already starving. My dad is on a new diet, so apparently, five to seven ravioli are considered a meal. I don't know how he does it. I, for one, am having nachos later.

Yeah! A's team won for the first time this season! :cool1: They beat a team that was undefeated!!! Andrew finally hit the ball and made it to first...only to get out when the coach sent him to steal! :headache: Oh well. Thanks for all the well wishes.

Laura, I really like the Flylady routine. I haven't fully done her routine but the things I have done really made a difference.

I was going to respond to a few of you but seem to have lost my thoughts. I guess it may have something to do with the few Coronas that I just had...;)

I hope everyone is well. Not sure if I will be on much tomorrow. Church, more priming the walls and then we have my neice's sweet sixteen bday party. She must be on cloud nine...a big bday and then her and my sister are leaving this week for a 2 week trip to Australia to see her sister...:)

We went out to lunch with my dad yesterday. He always insists on eating at this local sandwich shop. It's ok, just hot sandwiches and such. But it's cheap and dad always pays for us.

Wanting to go eat at a sit-down restaurant, if you will, we are going to a local Greek-Italian place my husband and I both love today.

WFD at your house?

Good morning ladies!

WFD- Today is my DM's 73rd birthday. My oldest DB is having some of us over to celebrate. I know we are eating baked potatoes and grilled london broils...not sure what else. Knowing my DB I am sure there will be wine!

Lauren -- Congratulations to Andrew and his team!

Ann -- Have a great time today. Happy birthday to your mom!

Liam has baseball practice this afternoon, so my parents are coming here for dinner this afternoon. That means I had better be quick here and start cleaning! We are having lamb chops, asparagus, sliced tomatoes and macaroni and cheese. I still have some mango salsa left from the other night, so I think I will serve that with the chops too. Have a great day everyone!

Have a great time!!!!

Yesterday's Senior celebration and game were really special. Of course all of the Mom's were boo-hooing but it was very nice. The game was super exciting, it was a slugfest going down to the last inning. We were leading by three runs and our pitcher was struggling and the other team had the bases loaded with two outs. Coach sent Kyle in to get the last out and he did it!!

WFD - Ms. Marigny's Cuban Pork Roast and Black Beans with Rice.!!

I'm having a chuckle at your expense while I picture your Dad doing the Turtle :lmao::lmao:, now is the time to get even and rebel! Double those ravioli :dance3:

You girls remind me of Gail and me. I used to be much smaller than her but no more. Now I get her castoffs because she has lost weight and i have not. Oh well, new clothes and no shopping for me either :thumbsup2

WFD- Today is my DM's 73rd birthday.

Happy Birthday to you Mom! It sounds like a nice party that you all will enjoy.

Tonight I'm having Peppercorn strip steak on the grill and a nice Caesar salad. :thumbsup2

Yumm! I love peppercorn steak but never really have it at home. I need to try to make it this summer when I break out the grill.

Good morning I taking a break from "spring' cleaning. It is currently to cold to be called spring.

I feel lazy. I have not even started "Spring" cleaning.

Kathy- You have got to be so proud of this guy! He sounds like the go to guy the coach leans on when the chip are down and he needs someone to stand up :thumbsup2

Last night the girls brought home fish and chips for dinner. My son loves seafood but my DDIL hates it. He won't take her to a seafood restaurant because she really would not enjoy it, they go were they both will like the meals. He has been wanting the fish bucket from out local fish restaurant so they treated us. YUMM!

There was so much the guys are having the leftovers now, we will have MB grinders or something tonight. W never had them on Friday.

How fun! Happy birthday to her!! :dance3:

I feel lazy. I have not even started "Spring" cleaning.

I AM lazy, DH is the motivated cleaner in our house, but I actually cleaned out my closet and organized yesterday. I'm a slob and will just toss clothes on teh floor, shoes, anything. So it was a big pile of stuff. I just pull out what I want to wear and run a load every once in awhile.

Now that it's spring/summer weather, I needed to move those sweaters up in the top and pull down tees so I organized yesterday. I was very proud.

Dh was very proud of me, too!

That party last night was LOADS of fun. I got a really cute, short dress that looked like this: http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/2980433...Y&origin=category&searchtype=&pbo=6014146&P=3

except the colors were like this: http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/2978238...Y&origin=category&searchtype=&pbo=6014146&P=4

Since it was short and I needed my legs to look as long and thin as possible, I bought some 4 inch stilleto heeled shoes similar to these (but in black): http://shoes.about.com/od/shoesoftheday/ig/1206/Carlos-Santana-Shoes.htm

DH called them hooker shoes  Anyways, they looked great together and were pretty comfortable, for being so high. A friend of mine said he'd pay me if I wore them the next time I preached :rotfl:

Tonights dinner... my ILs are at my house right now, actually. His grandfather died recently, and his grandmother has severe dementia and can't drive (though she thinks she can). The kids decided the best thing to do would be to sell or give away the car so she doesn't ask every 10 minutes to drive it. It's a granny mobile but it's in perfect condition and low miles. They offered it to all the grandkids and we took them up on it. DH drives a truck 45 miles each way and gas is killing us. This gets twice the mileage. We are SO blessed to be given it. The cost of it will just be deducted from DH's inheritance once his dad passes. His parents are coming today with it and I think we'll do an early dinner out with them?

All I know is I didn't thaw anything and have no intentions on cooking anything. My throat is bothering me again today and now it's painful to swallow anything whole - great for weight loss but I sure am hungry. So I would love to go someplace with great soup.

I've been chatty - sorry!!!

i hear that...greg is def. the organized one around my house as well..although i did go through the fridge and freezer...doing the pantry today...it already looks loads better.
not sure WFD tonight..i am getting back on the weight watchers wagon tommorow actually so i might try and eat something extra naughty as a "last meal" lol!!

I was looking through my old recipes looking for a chicken wing sauce recipe.

I found this instead. It was my grandmother's favorite.

Mediterranean shrimp
1 can (14oz) plum tomatoes
1/2c choppen green onions (reserve 1tbsp for garnish)
2tsp fresh chopped oregano
1/2tsp salt
1/4tsp freshly ground pepper
1 lb large shrimp peeled and deveined
4 oz feta cheese diced

heat large skillet over med heat. Add tomatoes breaking them up with back of spoon. Add onions, oregano, salt and pepper. cook until slightly thickened, about 5 minutes. Stir in shrimp and cook until opaque about 5-7 min. Toss with feta and garnish with remaining onions Make 4 servings

Quick check in---we got in later then planned yesterday....as I thought, Ross didn't place in the tournament.....I knew when he was sitting more with us then wandering around with everyone that he didn't feel good. His division went later then normal, and by then his dayquil had worn off, lol. He did great, just others did better. He didn't drop his bo in weapons, and during point fighting he sure made the other kid worked for his win! The kid knocked Ross down once and he hit his elbow so hard that we heard it across the gym, well that made him mad, so he got up and just nailed the kid, knocking him down. The ref was dying laughing. Ross' elbow is all black and swollen and he can't bend it very well. Par for the course........

Kathy--I am glad to hear you had a nice yet bittersweet day yesterday.

Lauren--Yeah to A!!! He must have felt great making it to base yesterday!!

Aimee--Glad you had a nice time at the party..I love your outfit....sooo did you wear the shoes to church today?? I hope your throat gets better soon!!

Nancy--I am glad to hear you are doing so well after Friday, don't overdue to soon though!!

Ann--Happy b-day to your mother!!

I am sure I missed a ton of stuff......prayers and hugs to all.....I need to go switch laundry and cook supper.

Supper is Rib Eyes broiled with roasted asparagus, and scalloped potatoes.

Look what I found at the NOLA home page: http://www.nola.com/
Scroll down a bit to sports.
