Anyone else not into the dinner shows on new ships?

You're confusing me. Why do you first say that they don't want you to skip the dining room and then say basically that you don't know why. How did you arrive at the conclusion that they didn't want you to skip the dining room?
Are you serious? I arrived at that conclusion because other venues close at 6pm? Are we playing a logic game?

If it's obvious, then why are you amazed by it?

Whether you think it was an upgrade in quality, it was expensive.
I was amazed you said they would have to hire more crew. I don't think they have room on the ship for more crew.

My guy/girl/person, you're arguing with me when we are saying the same thing. Whether they ran out of budget to hire more crew because they hired more entertainment staff or they ran out of crew berths because they hired more entertainment staff is immaterial. Donald's Cantina closes early because they can't hire more crew (you and I think). And other lines can do it because they don't have that extra entertainment staff/budget/berths.

There is finite number of beds for crew. I'm not an expert on the inner workings of cruise line staffing. I can say from cruising on Royal that the main dining room had a lot of empty tables every night because the passengers were dispersed among dozen or more dining options available. Royal doesn't lack on the entertainment staff.

Disney want's their guests in the dining room. They want the dining experience to be part of the cruise. If DCL decides to offer more options due to customers request. I'm sure they will find a way. I personally don't see them changing anything.

I don't know if you are intending to, but you are coming across to me as very argumentative. This paragraph is nearly verbatim what I said on previous posts, with which you then argued. If I have misread the situation then sorry.

I think you misread the situation.

I just got off the Treasure, and I wound up loving both of the shows in Coco! Definitely would do the Treasure again just for that restaurant

Now that our DD is in her 20's, we've really cut back our DCL sailings. We've pretty much moved on to Virgin Voyages, which is infinitely better where food is concerned and all restaurants are included in the fare. Interestingly enough, Virgin does have 2 dinner shows, one "It's a Ship Show" is included and the other "Another Rose" is an extra charge. That said, I haven't seen either of them, but we are not necessarily dinner show people, though we do enjoy the Magic/Wonder shows.

I feel like the Wish used to close down the venues, and then re-open them for a couple of hours. Maybe now they just do that with Pizza.

Dream has had late night food options when I have been on it.

Bring back the midnight buffet!

Just as you can request to be close to the entertainment, you can request to be away from it. We were on the Treasure and had not asked for either and we were in a corner were we couldn't hear the show very well and it was kind of easy to ignore. With that, we requested to be near the entertainment on the Destiny so we won't have that experience again. The second Marvel sitting is easier to sit through.

My wife and I are seriously considering VV to try in the near future. Spent some time this weekend watching some YouTube blogs and it seems like the food is amazing. What’s been your experience with the “party atmosphere “ ? I’ve seen a number that says it isn’t and then a few that says it is

It's more "relaxed yacht" than party atmosphere. I think that VV did themselves a disservice on their original advertising that made it out to be more of a "party" atmosphere. However, we find that the average age on our sailings is more in the 40-60 range rather than the 20-30 range. Now, will there be people on having a good time? Yes, but you'd find that on DCL as well...

lol I think you responded to me in another post. Thanks for taking the time to do it again. Based on your previous post We happened to find a video of people that titled the video Two totally introverted people going on VV for the first time. Both aren’t drinkers ( similar to us ) and they both loved it. Thanks for pointing us that way. We are considering it for the spring especially since they go to Key West. The food and they way the do dining with literally everything include is a big game changer in our opinion
