Kathy- Glad Sammie is doing well!

Hope all the sick kids are better. It's no fun when they're not well.

Liamsaunt- Your dinner sounds delish!

Thanks Becky!! And Laura for putting out the call!

Tonight we're have filets, sweet potatoes and california veggies. And Pretzel bread that I found at the grocery!

Quick check in---

Stephanie--glad that Matthew is feeling a bit better, keep us posted on how he is doing over the next few days.

Kat--I am sooo happy to hear that sweet sammie girl is doing better...you can keep posting all you want!!

Lauren--we do bottle drives and bake sales...the only ones who do car etc. ones are lions clubs and such. I know that our community would not accept 50.00 tickets being sold for little leagues etc. That to me is crazy!!

Becky--Enjoy your meal!!

Jennie--I love to add leftover candy to brownie mix!!! Kris loves when I add Andes Candies the most.

Sheryl--Thanks for the porn, the fish looks delish!!

I missed a ton I know, but I am beat...we just came in from the Karate tournament after being there since 7:30 this morning. That is a long time sitting in the bleachers. Ross did great for the first tournament of the season. He placed 4th in forms and 2nd in chanbara.
Kris has gone to get pizzas as I didn't feel like cooking anything for supper.
Have a great evening all!!

I'm not going to bore y'all with Sammie updates after this. The vet was amazed at how good she is doing, they told Johnny that they didn't really expect her to recover as she had multiple seizures/strokes. They said she must be getting some good Mommy lovin.;)

I love coming by here to see what everyone's making for dinner but I MUST have Sammie-updates too! Hope every day is a better one!:thumbsup2

That is so sweet of you! I know quite a few folks here are pet lovers as well. So I will post a "Sammie update" daily until she is fully recovered.:goodvibes

We are going out with friends from church today so no cooking for me.

WFD at your house?

We are having a ham dinner tonight with the fam. I don't have to cook since we are going to my mom and dad's house. Have a great Sunday everyone.

Good Morning!

Another crazy morning here. Church, Sunday School and then A's got another baseball practice. Then I have to hand out the crazily expensive raffle tickets.

Wendie, So happy for Ross! :cool1:

Stephanie, I hope your son continues to feel better!

Kat, I hope Sammie is a bit better today.

Dinner tonight will be pork roast. I may try Kathy's Cajun roast. I'll serve it with french green beans, red cabbage and mashed taters.

Have a great day all!

Way to go Ross!!!!

Sammie continues to improve daily. Her appetite is back and she's barking again!:yay: I'm already dreading having to leave her on Tuesday to go to work. I'm only gone a little over 4 hours but I'm still going to have someone come over and check on her for me.:guilty:

WFD - I'm trying (for the first time) Laura & Becky's Moms Old fashioned roast(for medium rare). Johnny is really excited about this, wish me luck!! I also got a new recipe out of the latest Kraft magazine for Potato Smashers that I'm trying, along with Prosciutto wrapped asparagus bundles.

I forgot to tell you what I am making for dinner. I read a terrific poem the other day...

You made crusty bread rolls... " by Gary Johnson.

So that is what I am making for dinner. :)

You two are so romantic. What lovely dinner plans. :goodvibes

You know we need to know how she is, Kathy. I saw that you were worried about Tuesday but she is improving so rapidly that the next two days are going to make you feel better about her.

Is the roast recipe posted? I cannot find the instructions from the old thread.

Becky - Those scallops have my mouth watering.:worship:

Nancy - I'm not sure if the roast recipe is posted here or not. I had printed a copy of it a long time ago. I'd be happy to re-post it for you.:goodvibes

SO glad to hear that Sammie is doing better all the time!! I am sure if someone checks on her Tuesday she will be okay. I had a sick kitty once and used to take her to my Vet for 'babysitting' when I went out! LOL..they are literally 2 mins away..so not a prob and I knew there were plenty of people to keep an eye on her. You have to go about your life, so you do what you can right?

Now-I am going to see what I can copy here for dinner! Those seared Scallops look fabulous! Is there a recipe?:thumbsup2

I have some news. First, if you all could spare a prayer for my Aunt. She has been progressing badly and I did not think it was dementia. I was worried about an infection and I was concerned that she was alone for the better part of the day. Several calls with my cousin did not go well and finally my sister stepped in and again it went badly. We finally requested that she have blood work and urinalysis because there is something definitely wrong. She was totally opposed to having someone stay with her. Gail went this morning and is taking her to the hospital, she is delirious and my cousin did not recognize it....she and her husband went out for coffee :sad2:. I am not going to the hospital because I rub my cousin wrong and I want to rip her throat out so Gail will keep me updated. Yesterday she told my sister that I "put these words into her mouth" and that I needed to expect this. I told her that I cared for a woman with Alzheimer's for three years and she never spoke like this. That she was sick.

I also have a bit of good news. My niece, Gail's DD Kim has been accepted for the CP in Disney and accepted the position in DL. She gave a thousand reasons why DL was better for her than DW, (she had been accepted there first) but never mentioned her BF, a Marine stationed at Camp Pendleton :rotfl:We are happy that she is going to have this opportunity and have teased her that we now need to visit a different Castle ;)

Oh Nancy, I'm so sorry to hear about your Aunt and of course prayers will be said. Please keep us updated when you hear from Gail. I'd like to help you rip your cousin's throat out, what a piece of work she is.

Great news about Kim!:thumbsup2

Afternoon friends--

Nancy--I will keep all of you in my prayers. I too would like to tell your cousin a thing or two!!! I agree with you that it sounds like an infection. Please keep us posted as you hear how she is doing.

I am very excited for Kim!!! Now a reason to check on the "other" castle!! I bet Kady will be all over pa for that trip talk!!:) She better hand him a tuna sandwich to nibble on first!;)

Kat--I am so happy to hear how Sammie is doing today...I bet those barks are beautiful to hear!! I agree have someone check on her, but by Tuesday she will be a lot stronger so that will help your mind a bit as well. Give her a kiss and a pat from myself and Ross. He is asking 2+ times a day how she is doing.
How did Kyle's game go yesterday? You might have said already, sorry if I missed that.

Becky--Amazing photos as always. The last time I made food from a poem was when I did a Kindergarten class during Seuss week and we made green eggs and ham...............yours is soooooooo much better!!;)

Supper tonight will be mustard glazed pork chops with brown rice and fresh green beans.

Happy Sunday all

Nancy, Your Aunt and family will be in my prayers. Great news about your neice! Congrats from a FormerCPer! She will have a blast!

Just flying through... I am still at work. I head home for 10 minutes to throw together an overnight bag and then me and 2 colleagues are heading out of town for a conference tomorrow. We're staying at the home of some friends so we'll take them to dinner.

Thank you all for your prayers. My sister said that they are running tests but it is not pretty. She is so upset that she is there and because she is not really in control she is a little fresh. She punched my BIL. My cousin insists that she was not this way when she left her this morning but Gail called her out and told her that I have been calling her since Thursday asking her to call the VNA . :sad2: Gail will call when she hears something. Buddy think my cousin should be in jail. I told him her family has had plenty of time to observe how she cares for the vulnerable in the family, she was never good to her three stepchildren and all of her chickens will come home to roost. She told me once that my Aunt was getting better care than either of us would get and I told her I was not worried, my children had watched how you care for family ever since they were babies.

Wendie -- Congratulations to Ross!

Kathy -- I am glad Sammie is doing so much better. I hope the roast came out right. Feel free to repost the recipe...it will help me too, since I forgot to print it out from the old thread.

Nancy -- I'm sorry to hear about your aunt. Your cousin sounds like a gem. :sad2: That is good news about Kim, though. :thumbsup2

I had linguine and clams, arugula salad, and crusty bread for linner with my family. The kids are lobbying for a cheese plate for their dinner since my parents gave me a bag of cheese (and two packages of underwear :confused3 ) as an early birthday present. Now that the kids know about the cheese (thanks, Beck  ) it probably won't last until my birthday.

Beck has pictures from linner.
