What's for Dinner Tonight? (recipe index in OP)

I just happened onto this thread and it sounds like something I would like. Do you share recipes and give ideas for dinner? That sounds like my kind of board. I don't mind cooking but it is hard to keep coming up with ideas of what to cook.

One of my family's favorite is Deluxe Mac and cheese. The grandkids want it everytime we have family dinners. I will post it if anyone wants it.

Hi and Welcome!

Yes, that is what we do with alot of friendship thrown in!!! LindsayDunn started another thread and kept it up with a list of recipes in the first post (she does an amazing job)...they have temporarily shut down that thread since it was over 10 k posts and hopefully will reinstate it soon. This thread is the interim thread.

Please come back often and let us know Whats for Dinner and recipes if you would like to share...:)

Janice, thanks for the pixie dust!

Lindsay - If you decide on the blog, I'd be happy to help but be warned I know nothing about them.

Lauren - I agree with Sheryl - post that sucker everywhere.:rotfl: I'll be thinking of A today, lotsa good thoughts going his way!:goodvibes

Steph - Hope your girl is feeling better today.

Not feeling too well today, it was one year ago today that I lost my Mom. I'd like to just stay in bed all day.:sad1:

WFD - A shrimp boil with sausage, potatoes and corn.

WFD- boneless BBQ chicken breast stuffed w/ wild rice, served w/ glazed carrots!

That's exactly what we do! Welcome! Please post your mac and cheese recipe. I am always looking for new mac and cheese versions.

And welcome to all the other new folks too! The jalepeno chicken dish sounds amazing. I wonder if you could put some cheese into the wrapped chicken also? That would just take it over the moon!

Here are some photos from yesterday. First, not dinner, but this is what I made for breakfast:

So....we also had to go to the jewelry store in the mall since I knocked my diamond loose in my e ring and I am walking past Glamour Shots photography and look at what was in the window.......it's me!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) I had to take a pic with my phone to share with my friends.

WOW! Honey, I agree with the others, you need to post that baby up everywhere! It reminds me of those photos we have of my Mom and her sisters and Buddy's aunts during the 50's. Those women were always posing and they were some gorgeous gals! Someday Andrew's DW will be telling him that his Mom was one sexy chick!

I posted right before we lost our big thread, no worries! Yes, everything went perfect - it was an amazing experience. My only regret is that I didn't stick a voice recorder in my bra so I could hold onto the things said to me during the laying on of hands. Though that probably would have backfired on me somehow...

I am feeling much better, drugs are good! :lmao: I usually try to let my immune system try a crack at beating down whatever I have but I just didn't have the time to do that this time. =(

First, no way were you going to recover from that "bug" without drugs. You were so run down and stressed you had no immune system left.

I am so glad that the Ordination went well. A recording would have been nice so that you could enjoy it when you were relaxed but after reading some of the stories from the last few days......a recording device stuffed down your bra makes me :scared1:

Yikes--so I'm away from the thread for a couple days and it disappeared on me!!:scared1: Glad I "found" ya'll again.

We finished the night with DD in the bathroom w/the barfs. Ugh! Working again tomorrow, so we'll see what DH comes up with for dinner.

I glad your back too! See, you can't stay away....look what happens. I hope your DD gets over her bug fast.

Please send more pixie dust for A...he had Little League tryouts this afternoon. I am just nervous since he is probably not as good as the other boys since he has only played for 2 years...AND, the way his bday falls, he is on the 10 yr old team rather than 9. :scared1:

:wizard::wizard: on the way. Let us know how he makes out!

Glad you stopped in. Please feel free to share your favorite recipes and dinner ideas. Also we are chatty so join in.

Oh Becky- I wish you lived closer! How was the drink? I look for drinks that don't taste like alcohol and that one looks yummy. And I have Banana nectar, how would that be?

Hello

Wow those pictures are making me hungry!!

The Liam's sisters pictures have that effect on all of us. We all think they would be a perfect pair on the Next Foodnetwork Star :thumbsup2

Dinner last night was good. I fixed pork chops for Marisa so she was not neglected. I had an 8 LB roast and there was only a nibble left after we ate. Poor Buddy had been eating so much poultry that he was in heaven. His birthday so the food was all plain. I felt badly for Kady last night. She is not a sweet eater, never touches the cakes or cookies I make fro her so I thought that her Tofutti sundae would be enough. She seldom is upset about her allergy but was very sad :sad1: last night that she could not have any of her Pa's birthday cake. From now on I am going to make her a treat even if I think she won't eat it.

I don't think I am going to cook today, DGD is at a birthday party and DD made her a pizza to bring so that she can eat with the other kids. They are ordering pizza for the others. I made her Peanut Butter Roly Poly Balls to bring so she has a treat to share. She helped so she is especially proud of them.

Morning All!

Sheryl, I am pretty proud of that pic. We actually went there for engagement pics and wound up doing that one too...all it took was one shot. It was such an uncomfortable pose...we have it hanging over out bed too.

As far as the fireplace, that is an actual box that gets inserted into the fireplace and they kind of close up and insulate the chimney. We (Tom mostly) is going to reface the whole thing with some kind of stone veneer. The unit really throws alot of heat.

Will be hoping & praying for A to have a great day! Let me know how the fireplace comes out! We are considering possibly refacing the fireplace & if we do that, we should do something about it's effiency. Without a fire going you can feel the cold air coming in.

I'm in total agreement on both the blog & Lauren's pic!

Kath, Sorry today is such a hard day! Hang on it will get better.:grouphug:

Eat some extra shrimp for me, besides it'll make you feel better!

Sorry I goofed my multi-quotes on that last post!

Becky, Once again your food & cocktail pics are TDF!!!:worship:

Here's a pic of last night's dinner.

The Beer Braised Lamb Chop with the Cheese Grits that the sauce was crying for!

And because that sauce & the cheese grits were so darn good, we had it again for brunch. Yeah totally Southern & fattening, the only thing I could have done worse, would have been to add bacon & a biscuit!

Cheese Grits with Lamb Gravy topped with a Fried Egg

OK guys,
I'm thinking we're going to do the Burrito bake tonight now that the Chicken Noodle Soup is gone :sad1: You would think I would get sick of the same thing for 5 meals but no way!

:grouphug: to you, Kathy! Take it easy today, and let the memories come. We are here for you when you need us.

Can you post the recipe for your spicy coleslaw? It looks heavenly!

I've got a batch of lime chicken in the crockpot, and we're going to make tacos with it! Yummy! I think I'm going to try to make some pineapple upside down bars for dessert if I can get rid of this headache! Wish me luck!

Man, all those pics look so good.

Today is a tough day. Can y'all be in prayer for our church? We had a horrible morning and our staff are getting together tonight to discuss our plan of action.

I'm disappointed and sad right now, but anger about things will set in soon. I am so very upset with certain people in the church and honestly don't understand how Christians can eat each other alive. I've been through church splits, I've seen it bad, but I've never been on the staff at the time.

Things are just really really bad. I'll share more later.

I did have plans to cook and stay in tonight but I'll now be meeting at a colleagues house and we're ordering in food. DH is on his own. I brought him leftover pizza yesterday so he'll probably eat that.

Aimee, So sorry to hear of all the church troubles! Prayers for you & the church!:flower3:
