My DH loves corn bread, but I am still looking for a good recipe.
Would you mind posting yours?

TIA, Ann

Lauren= Marisa and Erica joined WW and they are doing well, I believe the meetings are partially responsible for their commitment. They are making dinner this evening, although I have no real idea what it is. I have not mastered teh meals but I do have the desserts down (big surprise that I would make sure that I had sweets?) Good luck :thumbsup2

Thanks Nancy! Yeah, we always try on our own but tend to get off track. The meetings are the thing for us too. Do you guys go on DWLZ dot com? Its a great website and they have points values for alot of restaurant food.

Good morning everyone,

:cool1: :cool1: We are so EXCITED!!!!!:cool1: :cool1: DH surprised me and took his day job off today to help get everything done. We just printed our boarding passes, and dogs are going to the kennel next.

Thank you all for your well wishes! I am DISing over my cup of coffee:surfweb: and double checking my list. Boy, there is alot to pack with a little one.

Ann

Ann, Have a wonderful time! That was really a nice surprise that your hubby stayed home.

Have a slushie for me too! And sangria, and school bread and ... ;)

WFD - Lime Chicken Tacos/Nachos !!

Ditto!

Calling all Glynis Pot Roast lovers....I can't seem to find my recipe and I'm making it today for a couple who just had a baby. I know I need the ranch mix, italian dressing mix, and brown gravy mix--but is it mixed with 1/4 or 1/2 cup water? 6-8 hrs in the crockpot? TIA

For our family, WFD will depend on what I get at the store. As I was looking for the pot roast recipe I ran across a Thai Chicken recipe from our old thread. It looks very yummy, so will probably be that one! Don't know who to give the props to for the recipe as it didn't print on my page. But Thanks to whoever it was!

1/2 cup water...cook for 7 -8 hours...add carrots onions potatoes...;)

Last night's soup was a bust! Well, the kids liked it, but DH and I didn't. Really much too bland. And the dumplings were really tasteless. Ick!!! Guess I shouldn't complain since the kids liked it, but I won't post the recipe unless someone wants a really bland soup.

Tonight will be chili topped potato wedges. I'll actually bake some potatoes for DH and me, and do the rest in wedges for the kids. That way, I know they'll eat them (disguise them as "fries" dontcha know?). We'll also have salad and leftover pie for dessert. There's not much pie, though, so DH and I will end up with ice cream or nothing. My kids do love them some pie!

:) :) :) I can't wait to try the lime chicken...its been getting lots of raves lately...:cool1:

I was so surprised at how flavorful it is for so few ingredients!

My kids like it over nachos, and I like to make a "taco" salad with it minus the chips. Like Nancy said, it makes great quesadillas, too!

Decisions, decisions.....I was having trouble deciding whether I was going to have mine as a taco or nachos, now you've got me thinking salad!!

Hi all! Haven't been in here in a couple of days. We've eaten out and such. Looking back I am seeing and reading some yummy looking stuff!!

I didn't get to make the bear meatloaf as the bear was freezer burned. *phew* Sigh of relief from me! LOL!

I think tonight I am going to make a white lasagne with chicken and sausage.

I am going to NYC this weekend and I told Julius I'd make him paella to eat over the weekend. Went and bought all the stuff for it yesterday.

Lauren--thanks for the quick reply. It's already in the crockpot and smelling good--wish I wasn't giving it away:rolleyes:

Too bad I'm using my crockpot already, cuz ya'll have me craving the lime chicken taco/nachos--one of our faves! We love it as nachos with the Tostitos Lime chips. Yummo!

All this talk of nachos is making me hungry!

I FINALLY got to leave my house today. :cool1: I even put on makeup and am wearing something other than sweatpants. Caili made it to her Annie workshop (she is probably the only girl there who does not want to be Annie!) and Liam is fine.

Dinner tonight is pizza.

I got my new camera today! :cool1:

Here is a pic of Caili's costume:

Sorry she isn't in it, but she is still looking a little peaked and thin. I have to go find out what part she is playing in Annie.

You must be feeling like a caged bird set free!!:cool1:

The costume is beautiful, can't wait to see her in it!princess:

Love the costume, Laura!

Tonight is Taco Tuesday at one of DH's fave tex mex places. It's a fast foody place, but better. $3.33 gets you 2 tacos (soft or hard, chicken or beef) with rice and beans and fresh hot tortillas. Not a bad deal.

Glynis - The Lime Chicken Taco/Nacho recipe gives new meaning to the word "EASY".:worship: 5 minutes in the kitchen this morning, 5 minutes more to shred and add corn & salsa.....I snuck a bite, the lime gives it so much flavor, I know the family will love it! THANKS!!!!!

Laura, I expect you to join me in picture posting now. I am SERIOUS.

Tonight I think we are having lasagna. Yesterday I made a porcini mushroom-tomato one--didn't bake it, just assembled it and put it in the fridge. My plan is to make that and also some garlic bread and a green salad.

Unless, of course, DH starts clamoring for panini--then we'll have those, and we'll have the lasagna tomorrow. :)

Okay, Becky has been clamoring for me to join her in the food porn on this thread for months. Now that I have a decent camera (not as nice as hers) I will add to the photos here. Please be nice...my food is never going to look as good as Beck's.

We had pizza tonight. First up, Liam and Caili's pizza. Sorry, the pic makes it look greasy but it wasn't. Liam's has sauce, cheese and BACON. (Everything is better with bacon, right?) Caili's is no sauce, cheese and of course, bacon:

Mine has sauce, fresh mozzarella, sweet onion, a little bacon, and is topped with arugula:

Then finally, with the remaining dough, I made rolls. Yes, we had pizza AND rolls.

I'm still figuring out how to use the camera..I can't even figure out how to turn the flash off yet.
