I did chicken, broccoli and sweetcorn pasta bake.(topped with crisps!!)

Yup it's in the slow cooker, it smells beautiful! I have just mixed up some mint sauce and put my roast spuds in the oven, I have decided to make home made ones today instead of Aunt Bessies!

I love the slow cooker, one of the best kitchen gadgets i have ever bought(apart from the Mickey Mouse Waffle Maker :thumbsup2 ).I love Mint Sauce,or green gravy as Dd7 calls it  .Only me+Chloe like it+we have it with any roast meat dinner.I always remember when i lived at home with my Nan+Grandad,Grandad had his veggie patch(he still has) and we would always pick fresh mint for the mint sauce.x.

roast chicken, stuffing, roast spuds, brussells, runner beans, cauliflower, sweetcorn, yorkshire puddings and gravy.

For the meatballs,i buy good steak+put it thru the mincer, add chopped onions, salt+pepper+dried mixed herbs.Add an egg to bind together-no breadcrumbs-but you can if you want to.Simply fry them in butter.

For the sauce, tonight i am using Grandad's home grown plum toms, skin them first(pour boiling water on them+cover)chop up,add salt, pepper, crushed garlic, worsetshire(spell?) sauce, olive oil,tom puree, chopped fresh basil,a little sugar-as some toms can be quite acidic and simmer.Sometimes i add chunks of already sweated mushrooms+onions to the sauce.
Serve+add fresh grated parmesan on top :thumbsup2 .
Hope you understood that.x.

Oh lovely - I think I will give that a go. Thanks hun.x. :thumbsup2

OOhhhh i have'nt had Lamb Casserole for a while,i think that could be on the cards for the weekend :thumbsup2 .How do you cook your's? I like to do mine in the slow cooker.x.

How do you make your Lamb Casserole? I have got a slow cooker somewhere but have never really used it.....:confused3

My Lamb Casserole is more like a Lamb Stew/Soup which we eat with hot crusty bread.
Always start it early in the morning so it's ready for dinner(for me-i have it going from 10am to eat at 5pm).
Chop up your lamb into biggish chunks(as they will shrink),chop mushrooms+onions, carrots, spaghetti(pasta type-spaghetti break in half),2 lamb stock cubes mixed with a little hot water, salt+pepper, lamb seasoning, tin of Heinz lamb+veg big soup, some gravy granules to thicken, fill 1/2 with water(don't add to much water as it's easier to thin soup than to thicken).

This is the same basis i use for any stew,beef-use beef stock cubes, beef seasoning, tin of condensed oxtail soup or beef+veg soup
chicken,chicken stock cubes,condensed chick soup,etc...
i also like adding sausages to my stews.

You can add anything you like, more veg, pulses etc...(i have 2 fussy girls so only add the minimum of items).
I sometimes add dumplings about 30-40mins before it gets served,or once there cooked i add new pots-there's so many different variations when using a slow cooker :thumbsup2 .x.

Dd7 is at gym later than normal tonight,so the girls will be having something quick for me to cook scrambled egg, spaghetti hoops, sausages and toast.
As i am going to Asda's after that me+hubby are having an Asda's curry from the curry counter :thumbsup2 .Beef madras for me,chicken vindaloo for Hubby, share 2 pilau rice, onion bhajis and garlic+coriander naan bread.x.

My friend is coming round tonight and we are having roast chicken and all the trimmings while the men have a take away curry.

Hotukdeals reckon they are only £3 at the minute ! let me know if thats true please ;)

Will let you know-usually it's the pre bagged ones on display.Becuase i only eat beef madras i get the meal for 2 from the curry counter and it normally is'nt in the deal.x.

Morrisons had their Curry bags for two at £3 last week. Plus packs of Cobra beer for £2..... It was some kind of 'night in' promotion.
