Hi DIS Friends, :wave2:

I'd love to get some great fab recipes. Corn beef, cabbage. Please post so I can make something fun for my family.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!!

are you Irish? We prepared Irish chunky potato soup in cooking class. Erin go Bragh! :)

Our St. Patrick's Day dinner is quite strange.

When the kids were preschool/toddler age, I made an all green meal for St. Patrick's Day. We had pasta with green butter, bread with green butter, tossed (green) salad, green milk for the kids (ewww...) and green jello for dessert. It was cute when they were little and when learning colors was fun.

The kids loved it!

They remembered that meal a year later, and asked for it again. They STILL ask for that meal every year on St. Patrick's Day. Green milk, and all! We have green tongues by the time we are finished with dinner.

(Green beer is much better than green milk). :lmao:

This year we decided on green pancakes. I will be having a green salad for lunch to offset the calories! :teeth:

We have a big party. The drink of the day is Grasshopper milkshakes for the adults and chocolate chip mint milkshakes for the kiddies. Of course we have Guinness (too dark to dye green) and green beer. Can't forget the 40 pounds of corned beef that I cook :goodvibes

It gets kind of crazy around here on St. Patrick's day, so DH and I are planning to eat at home and be off the roads as early as possible. I don't eat red meat so no corned beef for us. Right now I am leaning towards fried fish and chips with malt vinegar. We can pretend we are stuffing our faces from the chipper van after a soccer match or something. DH stocked in some Rogue Irish ale, and maybe we'll pick up some Guinness also.

Well since it's a Friday during Lent, no meat for us. We are visiting friends and she plans to make tuna steaks. I also plan to stop at McD's for a shamrock shake.

Corned beef and cababge. :thumbsup2 I have to work all day so I guess I'll have to drag out the crock pot so we are not eating at midnight!
