What's Everyone Making for Christmas Morning?

I was thinking of bring some eggs, bacon, fruit and stuff to make French toast at my grandma's house. The whole family will be there and so I can help make Christmas breakfast. I may ask my cousin to bring some Cinnabun's from Albertsons.

I always make Bacon and Gorgonzola Strata, everyone loves it;

Ingredients
2 bacon slices
3 1/4 cups 1% low-fat milk
1 cup part-skim ricotta cheese
1/2 cup (2 ounces) Gorgonzola cheese or other blue cheese, crumbled
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground red pepper
5 large eggs
1 3/4 cups diced plum tomato
1 cup finely chopped red onion
1 1/2 teaspoons dried rosemary
1 (16-ounce) loaf sourdough French bread baguette, cut into 1-inch slices and toasted
Cooking spray
2 teaspoons paprika
2 tablespoons (1/2 ounce) grated fresh Parmesan cheese
Rosemary sprigs (optional)
Preparation
Cook bacon in a small nonstick skillet over medium-high heat until crisp; crumble and set aside.

Combine milk and next 5 ingredients (milk through eggs); stir with a whisk until well-blended. Combine the bacon, tomato, onion, and rosemary. Arrange half of the bread slices in a single layer in a 13 x 9-inch baking dish coated with cooking spray. Spoon half of tomato mixture evenly over bread slices. Pour half of milk mixture over tomato mixture. Repeat procedure with remaining bread, tomato mixture, and milk mixture. Sprinkle with paprika and cheese. Cover; chill 8 hours or overnight.

Preheat oven to 350°.

Uncover; bake at 350° for 45 minutes or until set. Garnish with rosemary sprigs, if desired.

I use to make a couple of casseroles, but my family told me last year, none of them like breakfast casseroles. I would make 3 or 4 different ones, and they said they don't like any of them!!

This year I am making sausage gravy that I can keep warm in the crock-pot, hash brown casserole, biscuits (for the gravy), fruit salad and cinnamon rolls.

We usually just do cinnamon rolls, but I think I'm going to try the monkey bread and perhaps the hash brown casserole this year. I have 9 people coming in from out of town staying with us so it will be a full house.

Come to think of it, I may need to add the mimosas to that too :rotfl:

I might change things up this year and make a quiche ahead of time and freeze it. Pop it in the morning on Christmas day. I'll get a fruit tray to go with it.

My family loves this, especially on Christmas Morning!
And, the best thing is that you can make it the night before & then pop it in the oven in the morning!

Praline Baked French Toast
6 tablespoons Butter
1 cup Light Brown Sugar
2 tablespoons Light Corn Syrup
1/2 cup chopped Pecans
2 Eggs, plus 3 Egg Whites
1 cup Orange Juice
1/4 cup Sugar
1/3 cup Milk
1 teaspoon grated Orange Rind
1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
1 teaspoon Vanilla
1 (16 oz) loaf French Bread, cut into 12 to 15 (1 inch) slices

In a microwaveable dish, combine butter, brown sugar & corn syrup. Microwave until the butter has melted & the brown sugar is dissolved, about 1 minute. Pour the mixture into an ungreased 3 quart oblong baking dish or a 13 x 9 inch pan. Sprinkle with pecans.
In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, egg whites, orange juice, sugar, milk, orange rind, cinnamon & vanilla.
Arrange the bread slices over the brown sugar mixture & pecans in the dish. Pour the egg mixture over the bread slices. Cover & refrigerate for at least 4 hours to overnight.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Bake for about 30 minutes or until toasty. Serve immediately, each piece with some of the praline sauce that forms on the bottom of the dish.

I will be making this next weekend when DH's family is here for Christmas, on Christmas morning we make monkey bread.

Like C. Ann I will start the morning out with a very large pot of coffee. I then plan on making one of the breakfast casserole's posted here for brunch. Shortly after we will (9 of us and 2 vehicles) be on the road for WDW:dance3:
