What's Everyone making for Christmas Dinner?

Christmas Eve - Lots of fish (That is a tradion in Cathoic families.)
Christmas day - What my sister-in-inlaw makes ;)

we are leaving for wdw the day after christmas so we are eating at dennys on christmas day no clean up no left overs someone waiting on us ahhhhhhhhhh relaxing

Mom and Dad wanted the Turkey that is free and in the freezer but the kids all want ham, so Ham it is. I guess that is what we get when we ask them what they want.

We are having my favorite----roast beef. I hate turkey and ham is ok, but I love beef. Thankfully the family does too! We don't get it often so it tastes really good when we do!

Cajun country here.. Gumbo and Corn and crab bisque.

Lots of snackies and prob a little bourbon to top it all off... gotta stay warm ya know ; )

Nothing fancy, super simple and sits warming on the stove all day. YUMMY!

Christmas Eve:
Shrimp cocktail
bacon wrapped scallops

Prime rib
Loaded mashed potato casserole
Salad with hot bacon dressing
Homemade rolls

Assortment of cookies the kids and I are going to make tomorrow(coconut macaroons, monster cookies, sugar cookies, whatever else we can come up with)
Red velvet birthday cake(ds asked for a birthday cake for Jesus and we did used to do that when I was a kid so I thought it was a good idea).

Christmas Morning
Sausage and egg casserole if I feel like throwing it together Christmas Eve;)

Christmas lunch at my mom's---soup and sandwiches

Christmas dinner at FIL's: Not sure yet....probably appetizer type stuff

Christmas Eve - Lots of fish (That is a tradion in Cathoic families.)
It is??? I'm Catholic and never heard of this tradition before. I've heard of Italian families having the Feast of the 7 Fishes. But nothing for Catholics.

Anyway, we will be having leftovers on Christmas Day. Our big family shindig in on Christmas Eve.

Cheese and Crackers
Assorted Pickles and Olives
Roast Pork Tenderloin
Toasted Ravioli with Marinara sauce
Wild Rice Mushroom Stuffing
Au Gratin Potatoes
Roasted Brussel Sprouts
Roasted Carrots with Dill
Lima Beans(DH's request...I think they taste like dirt. Yuck!)
Corn
Gravy
Banana Gooey Butter Cake

My Mom is bringing homemade bread and sauerkraut or cole slaw. My DSil is bringing stuffed mushrooms and a dessert. My other 2 brothers and their girlfriends will be bringing dishes as well. Should be a great meal!

Christmas eve just apps:

Meatballs/rolls
buffalo chicken dip
artichoke dip
chip/salsa

Christmas- traditional Ham and Turkey and all the sides.:goodvibes

I'm thinking I'll pick up a Papa Murphy's Pizza on Christmas Eve and that will be dinner on Christmas day. Not traditional but easy and good for a single father........and my daughter was happy about the choice as long as she still gets presents.

Christmas eve- snacks at chip126 and SIL's. :)

Christmas Day- Our house! :goodvibes

shrimp cocktail
asparagus wrapped in cream cheese and procuito (sp)
pita chips and greek olive hummus

assorted homebaked cookies
eggnog and Shirley Temples all around!

Christmas dinner is roast beef with garlic mashed potatoes and butternut squash! Sounds yummy just talking about it!

We're another big believer in lasagna. The red of the sauce, the green of the salad. What could be more Christmassy ? Not something you're going to spend half the day slaving over, too. :thumbsup2

I'll be one slavin in the kitchen on X-mas Eve but not on X-mas Day.

Eve's Dinner

butternut squash soup
sweet 'n sour meatballs

Roasted chicken
Samon and Tilapia
Spainish risoto
Broccoli
Corn casserole
honey butter biscuts

blondies and rum sauce
peanutbutter pie

X-mas Day

Shrimp fried rice
Chicken Spring Rolls (my husband is Asian so we do a Asian meal)

DMom, DSis, & I all take turns hosting Christmas Eve at our homes - this year it's at my house, and I've been pouring over my menu for weeks! :teacher:

Cocktail Sandwiches on Rubeschlager (little rye bread)
- Black Forest Ham, Smoked Salmon, Liverwurst

Wiener Schnitzel (breaded veal cutlets)
Geschnetzeltes (veal & mushroom stroganoff)
Spaetzle (noodles)
Roesti (hashbrowns)
Red Cabbage
Asparagus

Strudel
Lebkuchen (spice cookies)
Coffee

Lager, Red Wine, Apple Schnapps, Gluehwein (hot mulled wine)

As you can see, I'm definitely going for the German theme. We usually have a Swedish Julbord/Smorgasbord, so I thought it would be a fun change. :thumbsup2

beef bourguignon, parmesan mashed potatoes, broccoli, brussel sprouts and lots of appetizers! Dessert will include a chocolate lava cake and a Christmas tree cake to celebrate a Dec. 21 b'day!

I did a practice run on the beef last night for DH and I and it was TDF!

Christmas Eve is always at my MIL's....they do a Surf and Turf....YUMMO! I look forward to this lobster and filet every year. Then we do a Christmas Brunch at my mom's on Christmas morning, with the usual breakfast stuff.

We are changing things up this year too because I am pregnant. I am hoping to make things easier on myself. Not sure about dessert or pickies yet.

So far I have planned:
Stuffed Shells
Meatballs & Italian Sausage
Garlic Bread
Tossed Salad

:bride: Mrs. Disney Ron

Wow.. I think you just wrote my menu for me! We arent celebrating Christmas with our kids until Sunday as my 3 children are all out of town until then, so my stepkids are waiting til then to come over and have dinner and open presents..

I was thinking of turkey and dressing, etc, but I think this sounds like a wonderful change!

I'm thinking I'll pick up a Papa Murphy's Pizza on Christmas Eve and that will be dinner on Christmas day. Not traditional but easy and good for a single father........and my daughter was happy about the choice as long as she still gets presents.

I think thats sweet :cloud9: Something as simple as that can become a tradition before you know it and she will grow up and look forward to the simple Christmas dinner with her father every year and look back on it very fondly..

I have the fondest memories of growing up and getting up early every Sunday with my dad and him making both of us a fried egg sandwich and a hot cup of tea.. I love doing that with my DD

We're mixing it up this year. We'll be having our Christmas on Christmas Eve...that evening will be indoor fondue. Shrimp, steak, zuchini, mushrooms, roasted red potatoes. Cheesecake for dessert.

Christmas day we'll be traveling, our dinner that night will be had at the Atlanta Aquarium!
