What's cooking?

Well I do sweat in / around the face like mad! I would have probably passed out LOL. Glad they thought it went well and asked for refferences! Now have a blast at DL!!!!

You know? When I was reading your comments about the interview going poorly, I though "I bet they call!" LOL. Good to know they recognize quality when they see it.

If I had been put in that position (no AC and 90 degree temps) it would have been disgusting. I am wicked sensitive to the heat and just perspire like you wouldn't believe.

Let's hope they make you an offer you can accept!

Awww shucks....

I didn't do good and don't do good in heat. I bet my other half chimes in on that. All I know is I am glad I ate a real breakfast. I drop my sugars quickly when overheated. I wasn't perspiring, I wasn't glowing, I was sweating. And my hair, oh my poor hair, was flat the minute I walked out of the house. And it did some weird 80's feather thing.

My Mom said the same thing, betting they call. None of my references have contacted me. A offer would be nice.....then comes the fun.

Good Luck with the Job and Interview!

and have a blast in "Walt's Park!":cool1:

Yeah! What DVC said! Interviews are always awful and I don't think anybody with one ounce of self-awareness ever thinks they do OK.
I had one once and discovered after it was over that the fly on my high-dollar Oh-so business-like pant suit must have been down the ENTIRE TIME!!!! Despite this, I still got an offer!?!?!:confused3
Anywho -- the big thing on your agenda now should be:
HAVE A GREAT TIME @ DL!!!!!

http://www.pierogies.com/retail/products.asp?ProdID=7

Came home tonight and "Shrek" had some of these cooking. Now mind you we eat Pierogies all the time, but this is the first time we have ever seen these "mini" versions. Nice change! Bite sized and great taste!

Aren't the minis great. I make a casserole with them that has kielbasa, saurkraut and sour cream and beer in it.

I just love pierogies. A few towns over, we have a place that makes fresh ones, in over a dozen varieties....OMG. Darn, too bad I made meatballs and sauce (gravy) tonight. I always have Mrs. T's in the freezer.

What is this thing of which you speak????

Oooooooooooooooo... Checked out the link and I quote: DELICIOUS WHIPPED POTATOES BLENDED W/ CHEDDAR, PARMESAN, ROMANO & SWISS CHEESES GENTLY FOLDED IN A MINI PASTA SHELL

Sounds INCREDIBLE!!! Is it italian? swiss? potatolian?

...must find this and EAT it.

HOLY CRAP! :scared1: And you can cook it with sauerkraut, polish sausage, sour cream, and BEER!?!?!? Sounds like the recipe for a serious night-time pooty-fest to me!!!!!

This of which we speak of, Pierogies, are I believe Polish in origin. I luckily live in an area not too far from a large Eastern European, especially Polish and Ukraine population. I get some amazing pierogi, krako and kielbasa. A couple of churches in Clifton have ladies clubs that monthly make and sell pierogi. I am sitting here drooling. Such a simple, peasant food is so incredible. They can be sweet or savory. You can keep them simple or fancy them up. I could go on and on about pierogi. I make a casserole from them, I make a appetizer with them, by far one of my favorite foods/ingredients. Mike I don't have my pierogi casserole written down. I will take pen to paper later and figure out measurments. It's something I throw together using pinches and palms as measures (if anyone has a recipe from their grandmother, it's kinda like that...you use this and that and you'll know when its right theory)
This is the list from one (Janeks) of the two places I frequent.
Potato & Cheese
Made with fresh potatoes, American cheese, sauteed onions, garlic & spices.

Potato
Same as above, but without cheese.

Sauerkraut
Fresh barrel sauerkraut sauteed with onions, garlic and spices and mixed with a small amount of mashed potatoes.

Pot Cheese
Pot-style cottage cheese mixed with cream cheese, egg, and a little sugar. Not too sweet and used for the main meal.

Pot Cheese & Potato
Same as ingredients as Potato & Cheese except pot cheese is used instead of American.

Broccoli
Made with steamed broccoli, mashed potatoes,American cheese, sauteed onions, garlic & spices. First rate flavor that leans toward the garlic.

Pizzarogies
Mozzarella cheese, pizza sauce prepared with sauteed onions, garlic, herbs & spices.

Prune
California prunes cooked and made into pierogi. Nothing else is added, Mother nature gets credit for this one.

Pot Cheese & Apricot
Pot cheese mixed with apricot lekvar. Smooth and sweet. Good for desert.

Sweet Cabbage
Fresh cabbage sauteed with onions, garlic & spices and mixed with a small amount of mashed potatoes. Superb flavor, but difficult to make

It's not for the faint of heart......sometimes I even add fresh chopped cabbage at the end for a little crunch. For anyone with backed up plumping, it's like a human draino.

Homemade Pierogies? :dance3:

God for once I miss living in the Midwest!

off topic...I am attending the pin event at WDW in Sept - I will not be using my third RSP if anyone is absolutely dying to have pins from this event - PM me to work out the details.

mmm Egg white omlett / Whole Wheat Bagel!

6 inches of sub left over from dinner last night.

(Got home last night and there was a buffet of KFC/Taco Bell/ and Subway set out! Guess Shrek couldn't figure out what he wanted to eat):rotfl2:

Tonight is a B-day meal for Mom-in-law. I will spare her by not mentioning the number, besides I think that she would chase me around the house with her broom. (Did I just say that? :rotfl2: )

I am making Chicken kabobs marinated in a ginger soy sauce, rice and black beans and fresh green beans. Sister-in-law is bringing the dessert, peach shortcake. She can't cook, so I am hoping that she did not mistakenly buy a watermelon.

Anyway. We live in Michigan and it is supposed to be a beautiful evening. Anyone want to join us. :lmao:
