What's cooking?

The head hunter called. I have an interview at 10:30 tomorrow. I am reserved yet excited. And the position would fit right into our current theme, as it is in the food & beverage industry!!! But this isn't my first go round in a job market, so I do not have all my eggs in one basket. And getting or not getting this job will not make or break me. I have to get an offer first, then negotiate. Hopefully they'll make a quick decision - which I think they will as the headhunter told me they want to have the postion filled and someone to start by the end of the month. So, I interview tomorrow, leave for DL on Weds., and may be "employeed" when I return.

Yes on the BLVD - Our house is about 3 minutes from there. We've also had many meals at the Dutchman's.

Good luck on the interview!!!! :thumbsup2

How do you do your corn? Sometimes I soak the whole ear in ice water and roast it on the grill in the husk. Other times I husk the corn line foil with butter, add dill and wrap the foil around the ears and roast that way.

I roast mine in the hust as well. It just seems to come out better for me.

Not to mention if I wrap it in foil I always manage to burn it.

Stacy good luck on the interview! :thumbsup2

As far as the corn goes, I like it burnt a little!

Just made a big pot of Gazpacho, had to do something with my hands while Shrek was screaming at UPS on the phone! CHOP CHOP CHOP!:sad2:

Good choice on Gazpacho.....I think if you had made something on the brown scale Shrek would well, we'd hear scoobies Rut Ro. I hope Fed Ex, has his package to him iintact and in a timely manner.

Thanks for the well wish. My interview time was moved up. I am cautiously optimistic.

I gotta ask - was the screaming effective??? or at least cathartic????

I am waiting for both UPS and FedEx to deliver important packages...have I mentioned I hate UPS???

Not just for the nasty thing that Tiggr33 was reading to me the other day (seems the NJ division is not giving partner benefits to a legally made couple because of some semantics - no marriage word...ugh)

I hate them because they never seem to deliver at a reasonable time - noon one time, then 5pm the next. If I miss the driver (amazing - I could miss her???) then I have to get up in the middle of the day drive past the first 2 depots to Secaucus (almost 15 miles of highway nastiness) to get my package. Only between 10am and 3pm on Mon, Wed or Fri. IF THE PACKAGE HAS BEEN RETURNED BY THE DRIVER....oooohhhhhh I don't like UPS at all....

FedEx - pickup any time from 7am to 9pm local (1 mile away) and easy - one piece of photo ID - not like UPS - my passport was unacceptable since it didn't have both picture and address. (Before I got a photo license I really had trouble with them.) Plus - UPS wants 3 photo IDs......oh well - I am sure that Shrek did his ranting and maybe enough for all of us for a day or so!!

3 Photo ID's?

I dont even think I have that many!

Fed Ex should be here today, I'll let you know.

Tony, did you overdo the carbs this weekend? We know you had Italian Saturday night.

yes would be the correct answer. I'm addicted to carbs...

Keep us up to date on the interview.

I am addicted to carbs too. Have been for years, turns out in me it was medical. I am hypoglycemic (with pre-diabetes) so I have to weigh my choices or pay the price. My body loves the immediate "carb high" then I crash and burn. I feel better when I avoid white carbs alltogether.

I'll keep you updated. I have about an hour until I leave. Beginning to get the nervous energy....or it could be the inhaler I just used for my asthma. It is not going to be a good breathing day, the air is already nasty. I just hope my coughing holds out until after the interview.

keep the ac on - you'll be fine. Where do you have to go for the interview?

keep the ac on - you'll be fine. Where do you have to go for the interview?

AC in the house on, my AC in the car is not working, so I borrowed my Moms car. It's the walk between the car and the interview. But I'll be fine. It always seems that I interview on the worst weather days. And let's not talk about my hair.

West Caldwell. So it's just a hop skip and a jump up Bloomfield Ave. And since I grew up and have lived in this part of the county all my life, I can avoid The Ave alltogher and stay on shaded side roads.

Well, I'm back home. My interview was probably the worst I ever had. The reception area and the office they interviewed me in didn't have AC. It must've be 90 degrees in both areas. By the time I finished the application packet, I was about done. And that was before the interview. I was so overheated by that point, I could feel sweat pouring down my back, luckily I dont sweat around the face, but my hair was soaking wet by the time the interview was over. I'm sure I left a puddle of sweat in the chair.

The interview was also frustrating. I don't know if it was the heat, or my blood sugars, but I just couldn't concentrate. I feel like I flubbed easy answers. It turned out to be a double interview, and no-one was the lead. The headhunter never mentioned this company is re-locating. And on and on...

So, I'm home in AC, tall glass of ice tea in hand, and this time tomorrow I'm on the way to DL!!

Tony...way too funny. Look at the timestamps of your question which is after my answer.

Stacey :grouphug:

Sorry the interview went so poorly..but maybe if it was that hot the interviewers were suffering too and off their game. Regardless....try to enjoy the rest of your day and we'll keep you in our thoughts.

Well the headhunter just called. They feel as though the interview went Good. They asked for my references, and I supplied them. So I'll wait and see.
