What's closer than December 2009 ?

My brother and SIL just spent two weeks in Europe with one week in Paris. They visited DLP and liked it. They did say that the Disney hotel had the smallest rooms they stayed in.

ScotsMinnie, thanks so much for "sticking your nose in"! I don't mind at all. I appreciate the input. This is just what I was after, but didn't know who to ask except Marivaid, as I had read her trippie and knew she was nearby.

We took the kids out to dinner tonight and we were all talking about our trip. we were discussing how many days we should spend in Paris, and he mentioned that he thought the kids might get bored just doing museums, etc. My DD said "well, we could go to a water park!" so I jumped in and said jokingly "well, there's always Disneyland Paris!" OH MY GOSH! "We are NOT going all the way to FRANCE to see that bleeping mouse! You just saw that bleeping mouse two months ago! That's enough for anybody for a lifetime! If you want to do that we can just skip the trip to France and stay home!, etc. etc."

Okay, he was hungry and that makes him cranky. Bad timing. But I think I'd better leave this one alone! And you say I am not missing too much, so that's good to know. Guess I was just being silly.

I am the same - any chance of a trip and I am in there!!!!

Maybe you could use it as a bargain with him for another trip to WDW all together? Probably pushing your luck but I always think if you don't ask you don't get!!!!!!! :rotfl:

Hope you have a great time in France though. I'm sure the kids will love it!

I'm subbing in. Love your writing.
I'll be at Disneyland at the same time you are at WDW. We go to Paris this summer, and I'm hoping to talk DH into squeezing in a trip to DLP as well.

Things are not well at all here. Did you guys ever think I would ask you all to please keep my sister in your prayers ? Well, here I am.

Last night a freak accident happened.Jess was taking her beloved dog out for a walk. They got in the elevator, Jess pushed the button to go down, and suddenly the dog jumped out of the elevator. The door closed. The leash was caught in the door. And the emergency button didn't work.
You can guess what happened, it makes me sick to even think about it so I'm not going to write it.

Jessica is a very emotional person who does not deal with death easily and we are truly afraid for her right now. The dog was her baby. My folks went down to her apartment to figure out what to do, IF they can even get her out of there, can she come to our house or should she be hospitalized - it's that bad.

So, that to say Disney is really not on my mind right now, though we did think that maybe it would be good for them to come with us in December for a change of scenery, I'm guessing that it's far more likely that we'll cancel everything because Jess will need us. Besides it's probably not a good idea to take her to a place that has dogs (granted, stuffed and upright) at every corner.

Fate really stinks. Here we had finally gotten them back up here, Alex had gotten all the papers she needed and had interviews for jobs this week, and now this happens. It'll take them months to get over that, that's IF Jessi does get over it, and they will need to move again because there's no way Jessica will be able to look at that elevator every day.

What makes matters even worse for me was that my parents didn't tell me the truth about what happened. They told me the dog had a heart attack after Jess took her for a walk. I thought why can't she take her dog out at a normal hour ? And I kept saying "at least she didn't suffer" and "she'll just have to get over it - our pets die"... I feel like the most horrible person in the world. :guilty:

Marina, that is just awful. I would be totally devastated if I were your sister. I'm sorry about your trip, but obviously that is the least of your concerns right now. I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Oh Marina that's horrible!! I'm so sorry for Jess and all of you. Of course you'll be in our prayers:hug:

Oh Marina, that is just so tragic and so sad. My prayers are with you, Jess and your family at this time.

You all are the sweetests. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers!

Jessi is at our house and not doing well. My folks ended up having to call paramedics because she'd taken too many sleeping pills (she said not on purpose - she just wanted to sleep but every time she closed her eyes she would see the leash handle dangling from the top of the elevator....).
We have our regular doctor coming to see her Monday and the one she saw at the ER recommend she see a psychologist because it was a really traumatizing event. No kidding.

We can't cancel our Disney trip because the flights are non-refundable. I wish we could. What I wanted to do was go to Orlando but stay in a regular hotel offsite, and just do some shopping and chill but Grumpy doesn't want to cancel our plans yet. She said let's keep what we have for now, and if we don't feel up to going to parks, then we'll just stick to enjoying the resorts and going shopping.

I don't want to go to the parks AT ALL. Needless to say Tower of Terror is out of the picture.
And I don't want big fluffy cheery characters telling me that dreams come true... they don't.

:grouphug: Marina, I know things are horrible right now, I can't even imagine the pain and sadness. I agree with Grumpy, I wouldn't change anything not with emotions so raw right now. Just don't worry about Disney or anywhere right now and see how you feel a couple of weeks, you still have time to change things if you absolutely decide you don't want to go. We are here for you, keep posting we are here to support you . Thoughts, hugs, and prayers to your sister too.

So sorry, honey. Your family is in my prayers.

I won't say alot of platitudes, but I do hope for the best possible help, care and future for your entire family. I am so sorry for your loss.

Marina
I am so sorry about Jess' dog. Listen to Grumpy, she is a wise women. You have been looking so forward to your trip.

Omgoodness, your poor sister! What a horrible tragedy! My dogs are my babies too, so i can understand your sister's pain. I hope the dr's can help her get over this. And shame on your parents for not telling you the truth? Did they forget you were an adult woman?? Shesh!

I wouldn't cancel the trip just yet, like you said, you can't cancel the airline tickets anyway. Perhaps you'll need the trip away too. I'm so sorry for your family!

Marina I am so very sorry for Jess and the rest of you. Lots of hugs coming your way.
