What's closer than December 2009 ?

I'm so sorry for the grief y'all are feeling right now. I understand the sadness of losing a pet in a tragic way. I wish all y'all the best. :grouphug:

What a terrible freak thing to happen. Poor Jessie. I'm sure it will take her a long time to get over this, and you are a good family to put her well-being first. No wonder a trip is the last thing on your mind right now. I am afraid I will be seeing that leash in my dreams too, I can only imagine what she must be going through. I feel like I know Jessie from reading your trip report and the one thing that was obvious from reading that report, despite your frustration, was how much you all care for each other.

Adding my condolences and best wishes for your family. :grouphug:

When I first read this I did not post anything because I did not know what to say. What an awful thing to happen! Just wanted to let you know how sorry I am to hear what happened and to let you know that you have lots of fans out here that really care about you & are thinking about you & sending lots of love & prayers:grouphug: :grouphug: your way. When you get a chance please let us know how your sister & everyone is doing. Thinking of you....

Hey you guys, thanks again for all the sweet comments you posted. It helps to read them. I read them to Jess as well.

She's back home, after spending a bit over one week at our house. The first few days were hard but she eventually got out of bed. Still, she's not about to set foot in that elevator anytime soon. I sent her home with a Lil'Kinz she named Rhum. Hardly a replacement but it keeps her busy.

We're leaving for our trip in 3 weeks ! I can hardly believe it. It won't come a day too soon. Working in a store at Christmas time, guess what ? Tiring !!! Exhausting, really. I'm also in the process of moving to my own place - finally, it's about time, I'm 30! The job switch thing is happening in a couple months. Many things happening at the same time.

Do any of you live in places where it's snowing already ? I think we're in for a rough winter here. It started snowing in November. It snows for a short time, then we get the icy rain. That's pretty much everyday... and I'm working outside a lot. Nancy Kerrigan has NOTHING on me (well, except the sparkly costumes and the whole fortune thing).

Marina  !! I am so happy you are going ahead with your trip!! Jess is in my prayers, that was devastating. Congrats on the new place, I hope you still get to go to Disney a lot. I still want to meet you one day.

We had our first snow Sunday.

We had our first snow Sunday.

And I live next door to Hedy in NH. We are also supposed to get a "mixture" tonight & tomorrow of ice, rain etc. Messy. Messy. I hate winter. Give me that Florida weather anytime.

:rotfl: I live in Indiana and we've had BIG snow a couple of times already. We have had snow on and off since October.

I'm glad you are still going ahead with your trip! It will definalty be a well deserved vacation! And congrats on getting your own place! :thumbsup2

Wow, you have a lot going on Marina! Congratulations on getting your new place. :cheer2:

I'm happy to hear that your sister is home and doing a little bit better. :goodvibes I'm sure it will take a while before she is totally back to her old self.

We have had snow by us, but nothing that requires shoveling just yet. Our weather has been really wacky-one day snow, then two days later its in the mid-high 50's. :confused3

Soon you'll be back at the mouse, which means more trips reports for us! :woohoo:

Oh, I just started reading this again, went backwards, and saw the tragedy. I am so so sorry for everyone involved. What a horrible thing to happen.

The fact that the elevator doors stayed closed is beyond me; what's wrong with that elevator? And the emergency button failed? Awful awful awful. I'm so sorry.

I was so sad when I found your last TR with the words "Last Ever Trip" and then soo happy when I saw the link to this PTR in your sig. So sorry about Jessi's dog. *hugs* to her and Alex. Hopefully Alex will be able to get a job as she'd planned when things calm down. I hope you have an awesome trip and do a TR when you return :)

Karen

So pleased to see that y'all are going forward with your trip. Congrats on getting your own place!

Marina, I am so sorry to hear about what has happened. I had lost track of yo but with a little help I was able to find you again. I really love how you write. No snow here in the San Francisco bay area but we have been having the freezing weather. It was a very cold 29 this morning. If I have to have the cold weather why can't I have the snow?

*** Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays***

It's the most wonderful time of the year.... :santa:

For the first time in ages we had Jessi & Alex with us for Christmas and it was really nice. We had decided not give any presents since the girls are broke, but you know what it's like. One person (aka : me) breaks the rule first and then everyone follows. Jessica really suprised me with her gift to me, a Urban Decay eyeshadow palette. It's fab, I LOVE IT. I would have never suspected she would know what and where Sephora was! Turns out she called Grumpy and literally told her about every single item in the store until she found something they both thought I'd like :)
Granny was here too. We didn't tell her the whole story about what happened to the dog (she loved Saskia and doesn't need to have that image in her head) so she kept mentioning her which was a little awkward.

Anyway, we had a really nice nice Christmas Eve. I got Grumpy a digital camera (the first camera she's owned since she was 21 and dropped hers in the Nile!) so she can take her own pics on this trip.

What's new about the trip ? Not much. Oh yeah I got really lucky one morning before going off to work and was able to get us a standard room instead of our king. Which means Grumpy & I won't have to share a bed and trust me that is REALLY good news!

Here are our plans so far...

Dec 31st

Arriving at the resort around 7pm. Check in etc, dinner at Pepper Market. Maybe off to the Boardwalk, Downtown Disney or very very unlikely Hollywood Studios.

Jan 1st
Epcot
Morning in Future World, afternoon/evening in World Showcase. I would really like NOT to go back to the resort for a break that day and hopefully Grumpy will go for it as well. It's been ages since we've actually walked through World Showcase.
Dinner ADR at 5.30pm at Cape May.

Jan 2nd
Was supposed to be our Hollywood Studios day. Instead we'll head to the Premium Outlets early in the morning, go back to the resort in the afternoon then go to Hollywood Studios only to see Fantasmic and the Osborne Lights.
I'm thinking we may have breakfast somewhere that day but it'll be a last minute thing, maybe Boma. Dinner will most likely be at Pepper Market when we come back from MGM, or possibly Wolfgang Puck's Express in DTD. We'll see.

January 3rd
Magic Kingdom
Another day when I hope not to have to come back for a resort break but I thought it'd be nice to go for a ride around the monorail and visit the GF for example. Gotta see that gingerbread house again, who knows it may be the next Disney cutback :scared:. We have dinner ADR at Liberty Tree that night and I had it noted on the reservation that it was Grumpy's Birthday! We'll also pick up her gift card that day so she can do some shopping.

January 4th

Slow day, Florida Mall. But first we have a breakfast ADR at Chef Mickey's at 9am, then off to shop. After we come back hopefully we'll have time for a rest at Coronado before we head over to AKL for our dinner ressie at Boma.

January 5th

Absolutely no bleeping idea what we'll do that day. Grumpy say she doesn't want to go to the spa after all (she went to a spa in Paris last week with her friend and loved it, it was something like 1/3rd of the price of the GF). It's morning EMH at Animal Kingdom so maybe we'll go there, enjoy the resort in the afternoon, then we have our special dinner at Narcoosee's - I will order Grumpy's mini-castle cake when we get to CSR. Maybe Downtown Disney that evening because the parks close early.

We need to fit Walmart in there somehow. I made an order of nearly $300 at Walgreens (what can I say, we need stuff!!! I wouldn't be awake at 2.37am on Christmas day if I could get my hands on some Nyquil anywhere in this stupid country, darnit!!!). But we still need Walmart stuff :) I also ended up on the Bath & Body Works site tonight and ordered from them too because they had deals too good to pass up. $5 for the scrub I use religiously every day ! I can fill up my new bathroom with Warm Vanilla Sugar. :woohoo:

Well, that's about all from our side of the pond here folks. I wish everyone a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Holidays... and hope you are all working on you New Year Resolutions for 2009 !

Xs and Os from Grumpy, The Turkey, and even Jessi & Alex

Merry Christmas to you Marina! I'm so glad you and your family had such a nice day. Warm Vanilla Sugar is my fav!!
