Congrats on the new trip!!! I am still a little sad you aren't going in October, but it is great you are going for Grumpy's birthday!! The plans look great so far. We are trying Narcrooses for the first time in November, I can't wait.

We're doing WL for the first time this December also. It's my understanding that the Christmas decorations start getting taken down the second week of January so y'all should be fine.

Yipeeeeeee...so thrilled y'all are going to be at the World for Grumpy's BIG birthday! I think you mentioned her age before but she looks much younger than almost 60.


I'm pretty sure the Christmas decorations are up for about a week after NY so you should be okay to see them.I also understand that is one of the slowest,lowest crowd times of the year so y'all ought to be able to get a lot done!

I think there is some special thing that if you don't use the free ticket on your birthday, you can request a fast pass for the day! Check out the threads that talk about the next promotion and see about that. Being that you will either have the AP or your tickets with your room you may do better trying the automatic birthday fastpass.

With the new celebration, you can get Grumpy in for free, but if you have an AP you have 3 other choices:

* A birthday fun card in an amount equal to the price of a Walt Disney World Resort 1-Day Magic Your Way Base Ticket** or a Disneyland Resort 1-Day/1-Park Ticket** for them to use on their birthday for merchandise, recreation or fun activities, as applicable, at select participating locations at the Walt Disney World Resort or Disneyland Resort; or
* A special birthday FASTPASS badge*** for certain attractions at the Theme Park they visit on their birthday; or
* A Walt Disney World Resort 1-Day Magic Your Way Base Ticket* or a Disneyland Resort 1-Day/1-Park Ticket for them to use any time until their next birthday.

If memory serves, you and Grumpy DO enjoy a bit of shopping so I'm thinking with low crowds by January 3, I would personally choose the birthday fun card! Maybe she could pay for a massage with it if she doesn't want to shop? Anyway, thought I'd show you what her options are.
