what do you find is the better deal for you
we normally stay at the CSR because of the queen beds
DH is to tall for a double so the values are out
(it was pretty funny seeing him try to sleep in a round bed once at another hotel:rotfl:)
So i think for us (I am not sure all the numbers are starting to run together and haunt me at night lol)
I think the 35% off the mods and the free dining work out to almost the same?

How does it work for your families

I had asked this same question once before and pretty much got the same response from everyone..free dining is the best deal if you are staying in a value, the 40% off if you are staying in a moderate or deluxe. I suppose you would also have to factor in how many people and their ages will be on the dining plan. My kids are both considered adults now so we save money being the free dining and despite their ages my kids still like to do character meals which I wouldn't pay for normally because they aren't big eaters.

we have always stayed in a value - can't seem to justify the additional expense when we are hardly in our rooms - so the free dining is what we prefer

Free dining for sure!

I stay in Deluxe hotels and I go with my 2 DD's 5 & 7 so the 40% off works way better for us and I just booked Poly with it for next Dec!!!:woohoo:

We always take the room discounts over the free dining ourselves. I think they come out to pretty much the same because a CM actually told us one time that it is actually not free dining because you aren't getting any type of discount off your room. Instead we use the Tables in Wonderland Card. It's all what one perfers I guess. I guess another reason we stay clear of the Dining Plan is because more than once we have been in line behind someone arguing with a CM how they want and apple with the snack credit and the CM telling them they can't have it they must get chips and there was a few other options. I hope this has changed it was several years ago. However some folks swear by the Dining Plan. I don't tihnk there is a right or wrong way of doing it. All depends on your situation I guess. :)
