What's best about OKW?

We are about to make our first trip as DVC members to OKW

What is your favorite thing about OKW that we should make sure we do on our first visit there?

We also have our first trip home scheduled for next month and would love to hear info from veterans. Anyone out there with comments?

Take a leisurely stroll around the Turtle Krawl area. Check out the marina, Community Hall, Exercise room, pool area and general facilities.

Take time to notice the variety of animals (birds, rabbits, ducks, coots and marsh hens) which abound at the resort.

Explore the quiet pool areas and the pathway to DD/DI. All of this may be done without transportation- auto or bus- and will serve to give you a better feel for the varied scenery and amenities which OKW has to offer.

There is also a horticulture tour on Wednesdays at the resort. Enjoy!

Take the bus over to Boardwalk Villas! Sorry Rich, I couldn't resist.

When you take the walkway to Downtown Disney be sure to take the pontoon boat back to OKW and watch for the old heron who fishs near the cannal. You will find the walkway at the end of the cul-de-sac behind building 55. Veer to the left on the path and follow the waterway to DD. Near the end you will have to decide if you want to go ahead through the parking lot to CDS or go left over the little bridge to end up behind Rainforest. We really like the atmoshpere at OKW and love the ability to park outside your door. Don't worry about the buses, we have rarely waited more than 15 minutes for one, and it gives you time to wake up before you get to the park!
