Another good reason for the connecting rooms if if your little one needs to go to bed early you can put him down in one room and be up in the other watching TV, ordering room service

Been there and did 2 connecting cabins and was worth every penny. We put the oldest DS (young adult) with older teenage DD in one room and kept the youngest in with us. The connecting door was open on both sides until the youngest went to bed, and then the older ones (the DD connected to "our" room phone wise) could stay out later without disturbing the youngest when asleep.

This also allowed us a little private time when the youngest was in their "club" with the connecting door closed (the connecting cabin bonus)!
