I know when we had it in 2005, we got an appetizer, meal, drink, dessert, tax and tip with the deal. Now I know it has changed and we have to pay for appetizers and the tip (which I think totally sucks and I don't even know if its worth the money anymore, especially considering the lousy kid's meal choices at ALMOST every restaurant, and especially the counter services...Disney should be ashamed of how crappy the kids meals are in my opinion, considering how much wdw is about kids..okay, Im off my rant now) but do you also have to pay for your drink and the tax now too? Just wondering. Right at $40 a day seems like a lot of money if you still have to put out money for an appetizer if you want one,and an 18% tip too. Just the tip alone could easily add $20 to your OOP portion of the bill.

The only changes are the appetizer and the tips as you mentioned. I don't know if it is worth it for your family since that depends on a lot of things like if you have picky eaters, if you always eat at sit downs or just fast food, if you always order appetizers, etc.

Look at the menus on allearsnet.com in the dining section. Pick out the locations you would eat at and add up the prices. Then do the DP math and find out if it is worth it or not.

the tax is included on the ddp, but not the app or tip as the PP noted; we are doing the ddp for the 1st time this trip, we figured it will save us approx $140
