We're having our little guy tomorrow, and we're not quite sold on a middle name. His first name is Ben/Benjamin, last name is short, German, begins with a T. His name is loosely based on Obi-Wan (Ben) Kenobi. Haha we've even joked about Kenobi as a middle name.

Anyone have any ideas? :)

1) I always thought "Rusty" was a classy first, middle or last name.
2) The name "Scupper" is good, but only for formal names.

I like Kenobi too!

Others would be Benjamin Robert or Benjamin James

I'm digging Kenobi more and more. There's already a Robert in the family, and I'm a little afraid of "J" middle names because of the intitials. ;) I know, it seems like we're super picky, but DH has a ginormous extended family that seems to use up all the good names, lol.

When we were having our second son, I was dead set on Benjamin (we call him Ben or Benny, only Benjamin when he's in trouble). My DH wanted some other name which I can't seem to remember now but I made a compromise and told him he could give our son his middle name. Jokingly he said Bradshaw, for his favorite football player Terry Bradshaw from the Steelers. At first I was like no way and then it actually grew on me. So Benjamin Bradshaw and it was and we get lots of compliments on his name and not many people even realize that he is named after a Steeler, lol.

Haha I like it! It just flows!

My cousin's son is Benjamin David.

This would be my pick. Benjamin David is actually my son's name. His twin brother is Matthew David. Their dad's middle name is also David, so you can probably see a theme going here. Originally we were leaning towards Benjamin Scott (which I still love) but we decided to give both boys the same middle name since they are twins.

Good luck. Benjamin is a great name!

I like the previous ideas. My personal favorite is Benjamin Allen. My son's name is Benjamin Nathaniel, named after my great uncle Nathan.

I think I would steer clear of any name begining with a k. Initials would be BK. Think Burger King. You would be setting him up for alot of teasing. Same goes for anything with an M. Initials would be BM. One of my DSs had a friend who's name was Brandon Michael. I personaly like it but the kids used to say:
Hey BM have you gone to the bathroom latley. I wouldn't go with anything starting with an O either. Obvious. Kids can be cruel. I always wanted to name a son Andrew. But the last name ends with a jou. It just rhymed a little to much for my taste. So we went with Nicholas and Phillip. You could always use your last name. I also like Christoper, Thomas and Anthony.

My Benjamin's middle name is Joseph. We've never had the "BJ" problem (he goes by the full Benjamin all the time)- honestly, it never occurred to me until he was over a year old. Joseph was his grandfather's name, so we used it to honor him.

Lucas.

Our DS4 is Lucas Benjamin.

I love the name Benjamin. But, it doesn't "match" so well with our last name, which is hispanic. Lucas sounded better with our last name, so we went with that for a first name.

DH is a HUGE SW fan. Lucas is an homage to George Lucas. But, it's a great name on its own too, I think.

Benjamin Lucas sounds just as good. ;)

DH is a huge SW fan too, we'd have gone to Celebration and Last Tour if I weren't ginormously pregnant. Although we did joke it could have been cool to be down there and give birth during it (well, in the hospital during it, but I digress..)
Lucas was also one of our thoughts. That's *another* name that's been used in the family (seriously, it's huge) and so we're a little hesitant. It's sad b/c before we thought of Ben we really wanted to use Lucas (well, Luke, I'm sure you can figure out why lol) until we remembered, oh yeah, there already is a Lucas with the same last name locally.

What about Ryan, Tyler or Carter ~ I however feel that a middle name should be a family name *have some meaning behind it*
