What's a good middle name for Ben?

My great grandfather's name was Benjamin Barrett. I've always loved that name!

That just sounds so intellectual and worldly! I like that! I could just picture a Benjamin Barrett sitting in a beautiful library in a soft leather chair...

My son's name is Benjamin Patrick. Patrick is my father's middle name as well.

Congratulations and let us know what you decide :).

Benjamin Luke
Benjamin Alexander
Benjamin Cole
Benjamin Elijah
Benjamin George
Benjamin Nicholas
Benjamin Ford (Harrison Ford!)
Benjamin Harrison
Benjamin Mark (Mark Hamill)

I have a Ben. Actually Benjamin John Charles F_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _!

Benjamin-because I love the name
John-in honor of his birth mother, who's name is Johnetta
Charles-in honor of his paternal grandfather

He chose William as his confirmation name, which was my adoptive father's first name.

That's a lot of names, I know, but he carries them well!

Just FYI, Lucan is the name of a rather widely despised British General from the last century: George Bingham, 3rd Earl of Lucan. He was the one who famously ordered the suicidal and senseless Charge of the Light Brigade. Lucan isn't in a class with Adolf, but it doesn't have particularly good associations for anyone who has ever been in the military.

As for Ben, every single Benjamin that I know has the middle name of Michael for some reason. I've never heard any of them complain about being called BM. Now, BJ I've heard complaints about, but in those cases the person was actually nicknamed BJ by the family and known by that when they started school.

PS: Benjamin Bradlee was the editor of the Washington Post for 23 years and is still on the newpaper's board. That's probably why the name is ringing a bell. He was a major figure in the Watergate scandal.

Ummmm Ok......I don't know that the association of the Earl of Lucan would make any difference to me at all, in fact, pretty sure it wouldn't, but thanks for the UK history lesson. lol And no I had no idea Benjamin Bradlee was the editor of the WA Post.....the name wasn't "ringing a bell", I said I liked the way it flowed, ie, the way it sounds.

My ds is Benjamin Tyler :)

Good Luck tomorrow!

I like Benjamin Tyler. :) OP you'll have to let us know what you and DH decide on. :)

My nephew is Benjamin Xavier

Congratulations! I haven't read through the thread but, how about Benjamin Lucas?

I also like Benjamin Maxwell.

I like either Taylor or Harrison.

Or you could could go with Alec (after Alec Guiness, who played Ben Kenobi in the original films). - His initials would spell BAT, but I expect that would actually be considered rather cool by young boys.

in keeping with the Star Wars thing, what about Lucas, as in use the force Luke.

i like benjamin lucas. a couple we know named their youngest son benjamin dax, and they call him dax.
