Can't people just enjoy both parks? I am an annual passholder for both Universal and Disney... They offer two different kinds of fun... True, Disney has more to do, and blows the competition out of the water, but Universal, what they lack in creativity and amusement, make up for it in thrills... Universal is a glorified Six Flags.. and there is nothing wrong with that... As for the kinds of crowds the two parks bring in: Disney bring in families with screaming kids and rude parents.. Universal brings in rude teenagers who think they own the world.. Face it, both parks have pros and cons....
No offense but I have to completely disagree. First I see rude teenagers EVERYWHERE, the mall, church, Disney, I honestly don't see how anyone could claim Universal has a monopoly on rude teens.
Second, I have been to the 2 best 6-Flags in the world. Dallas, and Los Angeles. I love those parks but they are totally NOTHING like Universal. They are essentially great thrill ride/roller coaster parks with very very little themeing. They do have a little Gotham City Batman themeing, a little wild west (at Dallas) a little this a little that, but they have nothing like the "ride the movies" thing Universal has. They have nothing like the very "themed" rides like anything from ET, MIB, Mummy, Spider man, Jurassic Park on and on, to the awe inspiring Lost Continent, JP (how it makes you feel like you are really at JP), Suess Landing, all of which are architectural masterpieces. I never feel like I'm in another dimension or time and space at 6-Flags.
6-Flags are great for what they are, and they have some great super coasters at 200ft. plus, which is great, that Uni does not have. But comparing them to Universal is like comparing a Volvo to a Ferrari, total apples and oranges, one is a theme park, the others (6-Flags) are coaster parks, with little to no theme rides. I don't even remember a single boat ride at any of the 6-Flags parks, except for a very small rip off of a small world in Dallas that was re-worked as a Bugs Bunny theme. But that's it.
