we are going in october and i am trying to be a bit more organised this time around::yes:: the first time we went it was all a bit overwelming and we ended up going back and forwards in the parks (walking more miles than we needed lol)it would help a lot if i knew the best way the do the parks:D

i did a search and found touring tips for magic kingdom which has helped tremendously:D

thanks in advance eve::MinnieMo

Well one little thing me and dh now do after many times of trying to tour epcot and not really getting anything done is to break up the park into days or at least take a rest inbetween. This up coming trip the plan is to have dinner at le clellier the first night after we come in and get a spot for illuminations. Then one morning we will do future world and then we will actually split the world showcase into 2 days. I don't know if you have time for that but we really want to experience the countries this time and trying to do everything in one tires us out so by the time we get to the countries we run through and leave.We also want to sample food from each country etc.

For Ak we usually do DINO land then asia then africa and then camp mini mickey. We always go in sept and lines are usually non existant so I don't know if this is always a good plan lol. But it works for us and then we have a nice lunch/dinner at the rainforest cafe.

For Epcot, I think you have to be prepared to do a lot of walking. Also, arrive on a Monday because there is barely anyone at the park. When DH and I arrived on a Monday there was barely anyone there. Plus, we were able to go to each world and take great pictures.

For AK, arrive early and go on Safari ride first. The line builds up quickly. Don't listen to people that say that AK is just a 1/2 day park. We took that advice and though we were too tired to stay longer, we regret it because there was a lot more things that we wanted to see.

MGM, arrive early, this park gets pretty packed quickly. Find out which rides that you want to ride first. I wish that we could have spent more time at this park because I didn't have a chance to see all of the shows. Find out what's more important to you. And if you want a good seat for Fantasmic, arrive early and wait in line.

I haven't figured out a good plan for MGM, but then again I don't like a lot of things there so I just hit the big ones(ToT, RnR, WWTBAM, and Beauty and the Beast) and leave.
AK I always do KS first then to TTBAB, then to Dinoland, then back to Kali last. This is also a hard park to do in order because I like to end the day getting wet.
Epcot needs to be split in to two half days. I would do EE day for MS, TT, SE, and other FW attractions, then move to another park, like MGM. Then do WS another day arriving late afternoon and staying for dinner and Illuminations. Travel counterclockwise. My best tip for Epcot is to stay and walk around WS after Illuminations. It is nice to see the countries at night with very few people and they play the music from Tapestry of Dreams after Illuminations ends. We stayed for at least an hour after Illumiations ended and we were not rushed out.

AK -

Arrive at opening and go straight to the Safari.

Then we check the various showtimes and always attend Lion King and Flights of Wonder. In between we go on Dinosaur, Bug, and end with Kali Rapids.

We usually eat lunch at either the Tusker House or Flame Tree BBQ. They are counter service, but are not the usual fast food fare.

We do not have children so we manage to avoid most of the Dinoland stuff (especially Primeval Hurl, I mean Whirl).

We also bypass Conservation Station (or whatever the new name is) and Tarzan Rocks. I have yet to see the parade because it has either poured rain, or we finished up way early and decided to leave the park.

Of course if you have kids this may not be optimal.

EPCOT

Do Future World one day and World Showcase another day. Get your Mission Space (if you have a strong stomach) fast pass when you enter the park, then go wait for Test Track (or vice versa). We ALWAYS go on Spaceship Earth, but not until we are ready to leave as the line is long in the mornings. I love to sit and watch the dancing fountains.

In the WS we take the time to catch the various shows. I really do miss the parade though... sniff.

On the Future World day we usually do not eat at the park. On our World Showcase day we pick a country and do a sit-down lunch. So far we have eaten in Norway, Germany, England, Mexico, and Canada. I want to try France and Morocco next. I have no interest in Italy since I am Italian and can make my own anytime! Ha.

Illuminations is a must see.

MGM

Similar to Future World...get a fastpass for RNR then go on TOT, or vice versa. Then we hike all the way over to the Muppets and work our way back to Beauty and the Beast, then end with Fantasmic. Since this makes for a long day we sometimes break this park up into two days as well.

DH always has to eat at Sci Fi Theater. I don't know why, but it's his favorite so I give in. Fantasmic is another must see!

hi :wave:

thank you all for the tips so far::yes::

i should have told you a little about us:rolleyes: we are going in october (11th-25th) there will be me,dh ds12 and ds8

that a good tip about doing epcot in 2 halfs i would have been trying to do it all in one day:crazy:

anyone else have any tips or strategies that worked well for you:D

Use fastpass as much as you can. When you arrive in the park, get your first fastpass right away. There will be a time on the bottom when you can get your next fastpass. Last month the time was always 5 minutes after the original fastpass became active, so we would get a second fastpass, then go on the first fastpass ride, and so on.

Another suggestion would be to look at the touring plans in the Unofficial Guide. The 2005 edition is coming out in September, I believe.

I don't know where you're staying, but our onsite hotel had the Daily Time Guides the parks, and they were usually covered at least 5 to 10 days. That way you can look at the show schedules and figure out what want to do the night before.

:wave:

thanks for that sherri::yes::

we are staying at all star movies in october:D

Best tips...Get the Unofficial Guide to WDW and follow their touring plans...They are the best if you go during busy times or have limited time to see all the parks...

We read the Unofficial Guide cover to cover with a highlighter...It's the best vacation planning guide in the WORLD!!! We love this book. It's the only reason we found the DIS!!!

:wave:

i'm gonna try and get that book today::yes:: i've got brinbaum's book:D

thanks eve::MinnieMo
