What would you recommend to do before and after the Wedding?

Annie Belle and I are new members here. We're getting married December 8, 2007 at Shades of Green. We'll be driving down early on the 7th and staying through the 11th.

Does anybody have any suggestions to maximize the fun?


This is our basic plan...

7th-Arrival/Downtown Disney
8th-Wedding at 3 or so. reception at 4 til...
9th-Magic Kingdom
10th-Epcot
11th-?? leaving at some time.


So, can you give us suggestions for photo opportunites anywhere? We're more of a candid photo type instead of those "staged" photos. Besides that, restaurants to eat at? other things to do? Things not at the parks to try?

When you're in the parks, have the castmembers take your pictures every chance you get. They're all over the parks and with all of the character appearances. They will give you a photo card (they will scan the same one each time you have pictures taken) and you can order them when you get home and give family and friends the code so they can look at them too.

Also, I'd suggest getting the Mickey and Minnie Bride and Groom Ears. DF and I got engaged at Cinderella's castle. A castmember at Guest Services gave them to us as a congratulations. It was great. I've heard that you might get special treatments if you wear them after you get married. Also, stop by Guest Services at one of the parks, they will give you each the wedding pin.

There are a LOT of really good restaurants to eat at, both inside and outside the parks. Most of it depends on budget and what your food tastes are. I used to work for "the Mouse" and so did my DF, if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

I would definately plan out where you want to eat. Some of neatest places will be a character breakfast/lunch or dinner. Ohana's is great and an all you can eat. Pretty affordable and if you time it right you can see Wishes from there. The Contemporary has the Cali Grill which is really pricy. Start making the advance ressies now.

I think the sleigh rides are at Wilderness Lodge area, and there's the usual horse and carriage rides at Port Orleans Resorts and also somewhere else that's slipped my mind!


I agree that character dining is quite special, as is the private cruises to see Wishes or Illuminations fireworks shows (there's some threads on here already about the fireworks cruises).

First of all, Congrats!

For photo opportunities, take monorail to Polynesian resort , there's a nice beach over there . The courtyard garden at Grand Floridian resort is good for photo-taking also.

I just emailed this to Annie but I had an idea! We could get our photos taken in front of a beautiful Christmas display somewhere (in casual clothes) and use that for our Christmas cards this year. I'm sure they can be done that quickly at Wal-Mart.

we went at C'mas '02 and the tree at GF was beautiful - and a lovely chair close by to 'arrange' yourselves in front of the tree! Think the Boardwalk was pretty good too.
