What would you pack in a travel survival kit?

Thinking of giving a travel survival kit for relatives who are flying down to Orlando for a trip to Disney. Trying to think of items that aren't the "normal" travel kit items to get them through the flight and their time in the parks.

All I can think of are the normal items like purell, tide to go, crystal light packs.

What are some unique, "I never would have thought to bring that" items??

Frog Toggs
extra batteries (for cameras, etc)
pennies ready for pressing/pressed penny containers (if they're into those)
gum (can't buy any on Disney property)

Glow Sticks - DD uses them in the parks & then they make great nightlights in the room later vs. bringing a light with us or leaving the bathroom light on & the door cracked open, lol.

Medical front: A variety of bandages, blister bandages, Aleve, Tylenol, antibiotic/antiseptic cream, moleskin, ACE bandage, anti-diarrhea stuff, TUMS, sunscreen and prescription meds in their original bottles.

Extra $1 headphones, LED lights for a key chain, LED lights for a book. Spare charger for phone/Kindles.

My room kit of stuff has a power strip, collapsible paper boxes (the sort found at Dollar Tree), sweater closet hanger, shoe closet hanger, pop-up hamper, some sort of big clips (for the curtains on the patio door), extra plastic hangers, and data cable for picture transfers.

(Can you tell that 70% of my supplies for a Disney trip are bought at Dollar Tree?);)

Ponchos
Moleskin
BodyGlide
Power strip for charging electronics
Nightlight
Sunscreen
Mini mister fans

This list is great so far! A lot of this stuff I wouldn't have thought about, the power strip idea is great, can't believe I never thought of that when so many times I spent looking for another outlet.

Actually, the best type of power strip isn't a traditional "strip" at all. At home, I use a "power squid". It't not a rectangular strip, but a bunch of individual, grounded plugs, and the whole things is really shaped like a squid! It ends up looking like a whole bunch of power cords bunches together at the base.

It's really handy when you have the old-fashioned square plugs with your charging devices. I have a couple of those, and they often take up too much room on a traditional power strip (covering up more than one outlet hole). You can fit so many more things onto a squid.

There are many threads re packing lists on these boards. If you do a search, you can check them out and go from there.

Collapsible hamper, Downey wrinkle release spray, extra Ziploc baggies, bottle of rum (a necessity when traveling 8 days with a 3 year old!)

An example of a "trust me you'll need these" survival pack. Basically - I find that I ALWAYS have to take the following each day I plan to be at the parks all day:

lip balm with sunscreen
travel size sunscreen
a string of dental floss in a little plastic baggie
6 ibuprofen tablets (in same little baggie as floss!)
tiny comb
ponytail holder if I didn't start the day with one
a napkin or a few kleenex

These aren't things I "normally" think about needing when I am headed out for the day at home - but I always seem to need while at Disney.

Stamps, fixings for Smores (our hotel has a fire every night); Paper bowls and plastic spoons for cereal, dish detergent and cloth to wash mugs in the room, scissors.

Depending on where you're staying, microwave safe storage containers are useful to have. I'll be staying in a DVC studio next month, so am also planning on bringing some microwave safe plates and bowls. If you are not staying in a resort that has a microwave in the room, it's probably unlikely you'd need these items though. ;)

I'd like to add that some of the things people listed could be "Disney" or "Mickey Mouse" themed--Mickey Mouse paper plates, Disney nightlight (from Dollar Tree), etc.
