What Would You Order?

Me and my DM(om) have the DDP on our next trip. If you could pick any appetizers, entrees, and desserts from the following restaurants, what would you pick? The restaurants, (all for dinner,) are; Brown Derby, Le Cellier, Flying Fish, Kona Cafe, Wolfgang Puck Cafe, and Akershus.

My thoughts . . .

Brown Derby - Blue Crab Cake, Grilled Atlantic Salmon, Creme Brulee

Le Cellier - This is always a toss up for me between the shrimp cocktail and the cheddar cheese soup, 7 oz Filet, Creme Brulee Sampler

Flying Fish - She Crab Soup, Citrus Schezuan Peppercorn-crusted Yellowfin Tuna Loin, Warm Banana-Pecan Gateau

Kona - Lump Crab Cakes, Macadamia Mahi Mahi, Kilauea Torte

Wolfgang Puck Cafe - Blue Lump Crab Cakes, Atlantic Salmon "Oriental" Style, Chocolate Fondue

Akershus - Baked Salmon

Mmmm, now I'm so hungry!

Le Cellier - This is always a toss up for me between the shrimp cocktail and the cheddar cheese soup, 7 oz Filet, Creme Brulee Sampler



I PREFER THE MAPLE GLAZED FILET! The mushroom filet comes with rizzoto that, I think, is horrible. If you choose the mushroom filet, unless you like rizzoto, you may want to ask if you can substitute for their YUMMY cream cheese potatoes.

Just my opinion.

I've only eaten a couple of your choices to give you suggestions based on my experience. They are as follows

Brown Derby - The pork tenderloin was the best meal I have ever eaten anywhere in my life. It was perfect. appetizer - the cobb salad is good dessert - I wasn't impressed with the grapefruit cake, but most are. that's up to you
Le Cellier - Steak, the chicken meals I have had here are tasty, but it really is a steakhouse for a reason, all of their desserts are to die for...and I've had 5 different kinds I think. appetizer - the cheese soup is one of those things you really just have to try, even if you never get it again
Kona Cafe - if you go for breakfast, the tonga toast, although all of their food is so yummy.

LeCellier- Prince Edward Island Mussels, Le Cellier Mushroom Filet Mignon w/ mash no risotto, & Creme Brulee Sampler!!!!!

Kona- Lump Crab Cakes, Macadamia Mahi Mahi, & Chocolate Macadamia Nut Tart

We ate at 2 of those last year when we were on the DDP.

At WPC I had the Casesar Salad, pasta and meatball (HUGE!), and chocolate fondue. At Kona Cafe I got sticky wings (DH got Caesar Salad and we split both) Steak Terryaki with sticky rice instead of potatoes, and banana caramel creme brulee. These were 2 excellent meals!

Anything shrimp or Lump Crabmeat would be my favorite option for appetizer or meals anywhere.

gotta disagree with a couple of people above me. The risotto is incredible. Not to be missed

OK---this is going to sound a little weird but trust me, it's good. The Hollywood Brown Derby has an appetizer that is a seared sea scallop with a corn relish over a barbecued pork belly that is delicious!!!! I would have never ordered it myself just due to the description but one of the waiters there recommended it and I've been to this restaurant enough to try anything that one of them particularly recommends. Now I can't go back and not order the same appetizer over and over. The one at lunch that has a similar description is not as good as the one at dinner. Try it!

At the Flying Fish you just can't beat the potato wrapped snapper.

Ha Ha funny thing is, I don't eat meat, only seafood, but when I go to Le Cellier I always have to have their filet, but that's the only time, once a year, that I eat meat
