What would you like to see at the Disney Deluxe resorts?

I don't want to seem like a big complainer because I just got back from a very very magical trip to WDW and we had a wonderful stay at the Polynesian. It's our family's favorite, and we just love it.

Here's the "but". I was thinking about the thread about whether the Grand Floridian and other deluxes are worth the money and I was thinking of things that we find at non-WDW hotels that we miss at WDW resorts.

The 2 things that come to mind right off the bat are mini-bars and in room movies. I really wish WDW would offer these. Why do you think they don't, and are there things that you would put in your "dream WDW room"? :sunny:

Some rooms do come with mini-bars, not sure if theyre concierge, 'deluxe', or just the suites. The In-room movies idea is great, especially if they stocked up with ALL Disney Cartoons/Movies, even the hard to find ones.

I can't really think of adding anything to the rooms as they are, probably because I don't really travel much and don't have much to compare to the WDW rooms. :p

Is ME! :rotfl:

I love the WL! So much we are getting hitched there! I love love LOVE that place! :teeth:

Our room at GF in Boca Chica did have a really nice mini bar. We had a king size room with a lagoon (MK) view. Maybe not all rooms have them. What I did love about the deluxe hotel was the larger bath towels and the tissues and tp seemed to be softer. :teeth:

Jacuzzi tubs! I love jacuzzi tubs and you're not going to find one at a WDW deluxe for under $600 a night. I realize that many of the suites have them but I don't need a suite. Just a regular room with a whirlpool bath! :goodvibes

I also wish all the deluxes had linens like the Heavenly Beds! DH and I always try to stay in Westins and/or Sheratons (on non-Disney trips) just for the bedding!

That's interesting about the minibars. We just stayed at Poly concierge and didn't get one. Does anyone know which resorts offer them?

Congrats Honeibee! I hope we can see some trip photos!

Yes, don't worry about that! I'll have pics as soon as we get back. :teeth:

I loved staying at the Disney resort and very few hotels can compare to the theming, the grounds, and the pools. But...

One thing I would add to the rooms are bigger bathrooms and a closet. We stayed at the POFQ, and the bathroom was so tiny and the closet was just a rack. I would like to have a closet where you can close the door.

I have had minibars at both the GF and at Beach Club!

High-speed internet access! (or Wi-Fi)

Disney is way behind bringing this modern-day must-have to their resorts - and it shouldn't be for just the convention hotels!!

Room service - and not just pizza. Plush bathrobes (washed between guests please). Newspaper delivery - how about the option?

The contemporary has a HUGE closet. My kids had a "fort" in one end of it. It spans the entire distance from the door to the beds.

Yes, Wi-Fi definitely! without a doubt. I'd like to see nicer fixtures in some of them. I was saying to my husband not too long ago that fall I was thrilled to get the Poly for $209/night but you take it away from the parks and I'd not be happy spending that much there.

In room movies would be nice, but heck I'd be happy if they just extended the bedtime stories out for 2 hours beyond park closing so that if the MK closes at 9:00 and we get back to the Poly at 9:30 my grandkids could still watch the stories before bed.

I don't need a minibar but it would be nice to have a larger fridge. The free ones are nice but too small. We just recently stayed at a Mariott hotel for a non-Disney trip and the entertainment armiore in the room had a compartment for a fridge and another for a microwave. All tucked away not in the open but available if you need them. That would be nice since so many people eat a quick breakfast in the room before heading out.

I'm wondering what room you were in and how was your view of the Castle?
Thanks!

We've always had a mini-bar in the GF standard view room. What I'd really like to see are some jacuzzi tubs. That's the one thing I miss about home when I'm at Disney.

I do not remember what room number we had. Our direct view across the lagoon was of the Contemporary and we looked to the right to see the castle. There were some trees in the way but it was still a great view.
