What would you have done?

My elderly parents have it for the first time Dad was in hospital for 4 days. I’ve skipped 2 parties so far as I went to hospital with my dad. You did the right thing. This surge is just starting so we don’t know as much about how it will affect people. I don’t think my parents will fully recover given their ages. We’re researching assisted living and walkers for both of them. Far better safe than sorry you passed it on to someone who just can’t fully recover from it.

Correct, you have a condition that is often easily caught by GPs, and then referred to a cardiologist for monitoring. If your acquaintances were seeing cardiologists, they did too, or perhaps they were being screened for family history. Either or both...puts those individuals at an increased risk of a cardiovascular event.
So you know my situation and the other peoples situations, cool. Can you tell me what the winning lottery numbers are too?

And no a GP didn't catch my condition and send me to a cardiologist. I had to do my own research so yeah, not every doctor is great.

And you also conveniently leave out where the 2 that I know that died that both the attending physician and medical examiner also attributed the deaths directly to the vaccines. But nice try.
Sources ?
Here is a source on early treatments and the studies associated with them. This was all censored by the media & CDC through 2020-2022 and even now. https://c19early.org/
The source is the VAERS, the self-reported data base. Here's an article that details how anti-vaxxers used this database to spread misinformation about the covid vaccines. This isn't a new tactic by anti-vaxxers, but now it's been deployed on steroids, and they've managed to convert millions of Americans to their cause. Their actions make us less safe as a society.

Again, you are wrong. See just one source I listed above.

What if the next pandemic hits children under 12 the hardest? Should we let the esteemed radiologist, Scott Atlas....and supreme podcast Bro Joe Rogan run the pandemic response? Would you get a vaccine then....to save the children, or should we warehouse them and their siblings/parents at home for a couple of years while the rest of us go for herd immunity? Maybe mainline some ivermectin....hope for the best?
I love how you love to denigrate people & it really just shows your ignorance. Dr. Atlas is way more than just a radiologist. Here is more about his bio and he is way more qualified than Fauci to advise on COVID policy.

Bio

Scott W. Atlas, M.D. is the Robert Wesson Senior Fellow in health policy at the Hoover Institution.

Dr. Atlas investigates the role of government and the private sector in health care quality and access, global trends in health care innovation, and the key economic and civil liberty issues related to health policy. During the 2008, 2012, and 2016 presidential campaigns, he was a senior advisor for health policy to a number of candidates for President of the United States. He has also advised several members of the United States Senate and House of Representatives and testified to Congress on health care reform. He served the nation from August to December, 2020 as a Special Advisor to the President and a member of the White House Coronavirus Task Force. His most recent books include: A Plague Upon Our House: My Fight at the Trump White House to Stop COVID from Destroying America (Post Hill Press, 2021), Restoring Quality Health Care: A Six‐Point Plan for Comprehensive Reform at Lower Cost (Hoover Press, 2020, 2nd ed), In Excellent Health: Setting the Record Straight on America’s Health Care System (Hoover Press, 2011), and Reforming America’s Health Care System (Hoover Press, 2010). Dr. Atlas has participated on the World Bank’s Commission on Growth and Development. He has also advised leaders on health care and medical technology in several countries outside the US, including Latin America, Southeast Asia, and Europe. Dr. Atlas has published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles and approximately 200 policy pieces, and has been interviewed in a variety of media throughout the world.

Dr. Atlas is also the editor of the leading textbook in the field, Magnetic Resonance Imaging of the Brain and Spine, now in its 5th edition and translated from English into Mandarin, Spanish, and Portuguese. He has been editor, associate editor, and a member of the boards of numerous scientific journals and scientific societies over the past three decades. His medical research centered on advanced applications of new MRI technologies in neurologic diseases. While Professor of Radiology and Chief of Neuroradiology at Stanford University Medical Center from 1998 until 2012 and during his previous faculty positions, Dr. Atlas trained over 100 neuroradiology fellows, many of whom are now leaders in the field throughout the world.

Dr. Atlas has received numerous awards and honors in recognition of his leadership in policy and medicine. He was awarded the 2022 Encounter Prize for Advancing American Ideals, explained as: “Standing up to injustice and facing down the madding crowd of conformity requires enormous patience, equilibrium, insight, and courage—the most important virtue, Aristotle observed, because without it none of the other virtues can flourish. The Encounter Prize for Advancing American Ideals pays tribute to individuals who effectively embody this rare combination of virtues in their lives and work.” He also received the 2021 Freedom Leadership Award, Hillsdale College’s highest honor, “in recognition of his dedication to individual freedom and the free society,” the 2021 Conservative Partnership Institute Freedom Fighter of the Year Award, CPI’s highest honor, "bestowed upon an individual for their courage and dedication to truth and liberty" and the 2011 Alumni Achievement Award, the highest career achievement honor for a distinguished alumnus from the University of Illinois in Urbana‐Champaign. Wow! You give anti-vaxxers so much credit. There have been more than 1 million adverse events uploaded to VAERS regarding the covid shot. And, it's not a quick process to report to VAERS. Anti-vaxxers must have a lot of time on their hands.

And, how does not getting a covid shot make society less safe? It doesn't stop transmission or stop a person from catching covid. Getting the shot is fully an individual decision based on if one thinks it will make covid less severe for them.

Because for the majority of vaccinated people, if they do catch COVID, it makes the disease less severe. So hospitals have more beds available for people with other medical needs. That is a benefit to society. People died from issues other than COVID because some hospitals were so overwhelmed they had to turn even emergency patients away. So, if more people experience less severe disease and can be treated at home that is good for all - other patients, hospital staffs, etc.

I agree that "people died from issues other than COVID because some hospitals were so overwhelmed they had to turn even emergency patients away."

However you really can't know "the majority of vaccinated people, if they do catch COVID, it makes the disease less severe". This wasn't studied and the trials dosed the placebo participants well in advance of ever getting to make this claim. You can't prove a counter-factual so I wish people would stop saying this. There is no randomized clinical trial that has established this as a fact.

You can think this but there is not a factual basis for this statement.

That is strange
A lot of threads get shut down or go poof even when people are being civil. To be honest I’m not sure what’s allowed on the community board other than the usual “ name a song with——-in it Or what’s for dinner type threads, but yeah Covid threads were a big no-no.

Technically anything and everything should be allowed. I would stay away from politics and religion but with the recent changes those may okay now, as long as they are kept civil. 🤷‍♀️

I agree with you. Why do the "powers that be" care? One of the biggest things happening in the world right now is attack on Israel...and the war with Gaza. There was a thread on this topic that I didn't see anything wrong with....then "poof"....gone. What's the point of this place....this particular board has the most traffic on the whole site. Is it about selling advertising by clicks....if so, then let the conversation go. Why do they care? I rarely venture into the "what's your favorite color" or "how many vegetables do you eat a day" threads....but don't care....let them go on about that. Some of us like to get into more contentious/deeper topics. Disney is rarely even discussed on this board.

So sorry to hear.

Please have their b12 levels checked. And get the number, as physicians can be unfortunately uneducated in this area. And often make erroneous statements. Regardless of hospital stays it is a good thing to do at their age anyway re: absorption issues.

The symptoms of long Covid are very similar to what people with Pernicious Anemia/b12 deficiency suffer with in their lives.

A great overview -

All the best to your family.

I think the issue is that people's politics and religion can align with certain issues. It's pretty easy to figure out how someone votes by how they view certain things.

There have been threads that have been shut down where I thought people were doing a good job of staying civil and keeping politics out of it. The last one on the current situation in Israel was one of them.

It's a divisive topic that could spiral out of control, but why shut down a thread before that happens? At least give it a chance. The economy, wars, and things going on in the world have an effect on WDW therefore it is relevant to this forum.

I *THINK* the thought is if threads get too rambunctious/contentious that folks will stay away from the boards. I don't agree, but it's not my board.

The current threads on this board would drive people away in my opinion. I was surprised to find out that a lot of the regular posters on this board don't even go to WDW. I'm not one of them I enjoy some of the planning boards and cruise boards, but you know after so many trips there is not much to plan anymore.

They may not have been but I just didn't know anyone. I only say this because I do know people harmed by the vaccines and a few that have died. Just because someone doesn't experience it doesn't mean it isn't happening.

I believe that deaths happened with COVID (I don't believe the total is accurate but I'm sure the real number is still terrible enough) but I just didn't experience it at all. So if I believe that deaths happen from COVID I don't know why people can't believe that deaths and lots of other nasty side effects could be happening with the vaccines. We know that no medicine is appropriate for all people.
I always love the “”I know people…” argument. Oh really, you do?? And that trumps (see what I did there) actual science. 🙄
I'm 46 and have seen a cardiologist for about 15 years as I have mitrol valve prolapse. My doctor just likes to test me every year to make sure that it doesn't progress/develop into something more. People see specialists all the time for screenings if they have a family history. I don't know exactly why they had just had screenings I just know that they did. I don't know why my friends would lie to me about that. 🤷‍♀️ Their doctors and the the person doing the autopsy were sure both deaths were related to the vaccine.
Correlation does not equal causation no matter how much you try.
Edited.

I need to stop. This is pointless.

Same...I'm out of this thread. It's like pounding my head against a wall. A pointless wall.
You fought the good fight. The science deniers will continue listening to Dr Rogan. It’s mind boggling.
