What would you do?

I am torn. We have our trip to WDW all planned for Nov. Arrive WDW Sun Nov 25, 6 nights at VWL, buying APs, return Sat Dec 1, using Delta Skymiles for airlines tickets, renting a car.

Now for my dilemma (life should be so difficult). I can get r/t airline tickets on Southwest Airlines and redeposit my Delta Skymiles for a total of $115 per ticket r/t (x3 =$345). We would have to leave on Friday Nov 23 and return on Dec 1 as planned. I can use Marriott Rewards to get the Courtyard in the Disney Village for the two additional nights. Would need to pay for 2 additional days on the rental car (approx $60).

Therefore, we must decide between;

1 - Redeposit Skymiles (which we will be able to use for another trip in the future), spend the $400 on airline tix and car, use Marriott points and spend two additional days at WDW, or
2 - Keep things as they are and save the $400 and Marriott points (we just had ds 3 weeks ago so saving the money now is tempting).

They way I figure, the 3 Delta tickets I redeposit now are likely to be worth significantly more than $115 each when we use them for another trip in the future. This could actually save us several hundred dollars in the long run. No additional cost for admission as we will be getting AP's. I have plenty of Marriott points available as well. We were excited to be going to WDW for 7 days (we usually go for 5 max) and have always talked about taking a longer trip.

Given the choice, what would you do? I am like many of you and I like to complicate things - but usually for the better. My dw hates when I do this (but she won't be upset when/if we are enjoying 2 additional days at our favorite place).

If it were me, I would redeposit the delta miles, go on SWA,
enjoy the 2 extra days and start planning another trip as
soon as I got back. :D

I think you should make the changes! I agree that the SkyMiles would most likely be worth much more than $115 RT in the future!! Go for it!!

Have Fun!

I'm with them. Frequent Flier miles are best used when airfares are high, not bargain basement! $400 for an extra 2 nights, plus free airfare on another trip... great deal if you can swing it! :D
