Ok guys and girls need help.
Really want to go to Disney in September but as my disney friend has just had a baby  will be doing it solo.
Now I could stay at pop which I have done before and enjoyed and fly premium, as a solo I think this would be more confortable, only next to one person so less asking strangers to let up out and less risk of spending 9 hours cramed by strangers either side of me.

OR
For the same price i could fly econ and stay at at lux resort ie animal kingdom or key west. would also get free dining at these.

So what would you do???? :confused3 :confused3

For me would rather stick headphones in on plane to keep strangers away or feign sleep and have lux resort , could you have both by staying mid ?

AK is lovely, we find it one of the most evocative Disney Hotels. Not stayed at Pop but when routing through on a bus it looka like a n other American motel with garish pop add ons (my opinion only). Lots of people rave about it though. For my money AK, stick your ipod on at take off and wait till landing!

Everyone is different, personally I would never stay in a value resort again but if you enjoy it Pop only you know if you are happy to stay there again and upgrade to PE.
For me PE is not something I will pay a high premium for, we are coming back PE this August but it was cheaper than economy by using some airmiles. If you were asking business class or Upper then they are in a different league.

As for AKL or OKW, we loved AKL but I would have to be in a savanah view room, if you are talking basic room I would prefer OKW, staying there for 3rd time this August, its a great resort.

Can't really spend more.
I'm using savings (I do have the money there) but am meant to be saving for a new kitchen (think 80's no fitted appliances little cupboard space very very dated)
But have have not had proper holiday since my last Disney trip in 08, am fed up, currently off sick after a hand operation  feeling  and feel I need a holiday too look forward to more than a new kitchen in the two more years it will take me to save enough for that.:scared1:
The reason behind premium was last trip had a nightmare return journey really uncomfortable (I have restless legs, my legs were cramping and really painfull for the whole night) and said I never travel that econ again but being swayed by staying at nicer resort???
God I’m so indecisive I really don't know what to do.:confused3
(Do however need to check i can get that week off work so getting slightly ahead of myself):rolleyes1:rolleyes1

My view - I would stay at AKL and get free dining and go on holiday in normal economy - and look to see what the price was to come back premium - but also bear in mind if you are on your own you might get lucky to get upgraded anyway:confused3

Have fun planning,

Or what about a split stay if you choose premium flight - you could stay mostly at Pop and then a few days at AKL.

I would stay at the deluxe resort after all your only on the plane for 9 hours but in the luxery for a lot longer.Like OP said do a spit stay. Disney will move all your luggage for you.Are you doing 1 or 2 weeks? Are you doing DIY or package? Love AKL staying again this time(Hopefully if sam can rent it for us:scared1:at the 7 month window)

This ^^^ :thumbsup2

Much as I love to travel in comfort, given the choice I would take a deluxe resort. They all have bars and lounges too so if you feel like some company you can always nip down (or up) for some social time. Most people enjoy conversation at Disney.

If it was me on my own I say book economy flights and take the delux option. Seriously if I was going on my own I would want the best i could afford accom wise.

Have fun what ever you choose to do.

I just returned from my first solo trip so thought I could add my perspective. I flew economy and I was very lucky in that I had good experiences on way out and back. I'd sit on the end of the centre block and then the people sitting next to you can get out the other way. What about upgrading to extra legroom or an exit seat? I've heard you can now book these in advance and those options are much cheaper than PE. In all I was on the plane 16 hours or so in total so wouldn't pay that premium for PE.
On my recent solo trip I definitely spent more time around the resort than usual do I'd say stay deluxe if you can. I'm sure you'll have a great time whatever you choose - going solo was the best decision I made! :)

I'd fly economy and pay to upgrade at the airport to an exit row seat - that way no asking anyone to move to get out. :thumbsup2
