Ok, I voted stay akl 3 days, marco, then csr 3 days. Although I realllllly want you to do CSR the whole time, I think it will eat at you if you don't at least try AKL! Plus you get to end your trip "at home" ;) Hope that was helpful!

Any dates in mind..if that last 3 days at CSR coincides with my trip there, I will be thrilled:thumbsup2

If we were to go with option three, it would so far be the 17th, 18th & 19th at AKL, then Marco Island until the 24th, and then back to CSR for the 25th, 26th and 27th (and maybe the 28th).

I voted option 3. I know how much you like the CSR and even if it turns out you love AKL too, well you had the best of both worlds.

I voted for 5 nights at AKL, I know how much you have always wanted to stay there. I think the traveling back and forth may be a bit much with the packing and unpacking. But that is something that you may not mind so much.

When we visited there for the first time on this last trip(dinner at Jiko) DH has put it on our "to stay at" list. For $440 more with a Savannah view, that sounds like a great deal.

ok..works for me! I'll be there the 17,18, and 19./.so I def say go with that lolll

I've stayed at both, and while I really liked CSR, I vote for AKL for 5 nights, then MI. AKL is absolutely stunning. The theming is fantastic and I think you'll appreciate the opportunity to stay there for more than just 3 nights.

I hope you have a great time, whatever you decide! :goodvibes

I would do AKL and then go to Marco. You know CSR like the back of your hand and know it will always be there for future visits! It's always nice to try something new for once.

I think doing a split stay for 5 days is alot of moving around (especially since you are also traveling to Marco). I voted for you to stay at CSR..you really like it there. AKL is beautiful (we stayed there in August and loved it), but you have to decide whether or not you will be disappointed by NOT staying at CSR (you like laying on the hammocks..AKL does not have that).
Maybe try AKL for your next trip, and you can always go back to CSR in the future.

There's nothing like "coming home", but you've always wanted to go to the AKL. If it's financially feasable, I would go with option #2 in a heartbeat because #3 just seems like to much time packing up then unpacking, and #1 you've done before (several times.;))

I voted for AKL for 5 nights. It is somewhere you have always wanted to stay, go for it!!! It's a beautiful resort, 3 nights is not enough. :goodvibes

One other thing about option #3 - it kinda lets out the dining plan option unless you have an AP. You'd need at least a one-day ticket for both of you to get the dining plan at CSR, and I know you like that.

I voted for 5 days at AKL for purely selfish reasons. I'd love to hear your review of AKL because you always serve up the pros AND the cons of where you've stayed. Your reviews are always honest and not completely pixie-coated, even if you love a place as much as the CSR. :goodvibes

I'd vote against the split stay only because you need to get a really good feel for AKL and five days seems like a really good stay (and less hectic).

Plus, you always mention how you'd love to stay there, right?

AKL, along with CSR, is on our short list of places to stay, so I'd love to hear from you on it!

LUCKY YOU!!

Yes I need your full unbiased opinion of AKL since we're going Dec 2010! LOL That'll let me know if I should switch my ressie back to CSR (hey, there's nothing wrong with visiting CSR twice in the same year!)!!!!!

As you know, I love AKL. I take the wildlife identification page in the room as a challenge not a aid. I"ve spent hours just relaxing in the "library" just off the main lobby, taking in the atmosphere. But you all really love CSR and you have to travel back from Marco Island anyway, so why not do the 3 way split. I guess I never really unpack so its never an issue to move during a trip (heck, I had one Disney trip with 3 different resorts in 3 nights--not ideal, but any day in Disney beats a winter day back in Chicago).

Thanks, Pink...you are very sweet.

You are TOO funny.

I like your reasoning a lot! And since somedays it already feels like it has been winter here, I hear what you are saying.

I appreciate everyones thoughts and welcome more. We will probably make our final decision sometime next month.

Morning Kathy,

So have you even an inkling what you guys are going to decide?

Good morning, Lisa. No...don't have a clue. DH and I both have a different thought on what we want to do. We're still watching the poll and weighing the pros/cons for each scenario. Maybe we'll just pitch a tent somewhere and not have to make a decision. ;)

Good morning Kathy. Decisions are so hard for me too. I think I want something but then someone else says 'oh, this sounds good' and then I'm right back where I started. I must be a little ADHD. I put another Princess pic this morning. She is laying on the couch. She pretends she's asleep so I won't put her in her kennel before I leave. It never works but she continually tries.

Have a great day at work.

Well, you know how much I love CSR, and I know how much YOU love CSR. I'm not sure it would be a Disney trip for you if you weren't hanging in your hammock. But I also know how much you want to stay at AKL and can totally relate - we are booked for four nights at AKL in January.

I voted for option three - I think it will be hard for you to be at Disney and not be at CSR. But AKL is truly a unique experience at WDW, and I'm looking forward to trying it in January. CSR will probably always be our first choice, but change is good sometimes.

If your dates are flexible (not sure if you have to have three days before and three after), how about two days at AKL either before or after Marco as resort days, while you do the parks with four days at CSR? My only concern about our trip in January (besides that the pool is closed :sad1:) is that we won't have enough time to really enjoy AKL since we will be trying to fit so much into 3 1/2 days in the parks. I'd love to hear the storytelling, relax around the pool (if it were open), and sit outside and watch the animals for a while, rather than just checking them off an internal list. AKL seems to be the kind of resort that lends itself to hanging out there rather than running for a bus (not that CSR isn't as well, but you have probably uncovered most of its hidden treasures by now). It's full of places to curl up and look out the window or sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere.

I'll give you the unbiased report when we get back from our January trip. But I can't imagine you being at Disney and NOT being at CSR for at least a few days.

Now that idea I like a lot. We could skip the parks and just hang at the resort for two or three days and do the parks when we are at CSR. Excellent idea! I will have to discuss this with hubby tomorrow (I'm going to be out late tonight...going to watch Tim McGraw tape Soundstage for Public Televisioin Station here in Chicago.

And I expect a full unbiased report from you when you get back.
