I am still trying to call to see what we can get as far as Free Dining...The CM that I spoke to earlier told me that she couldn't modify my ressie at the moment because of computer problems, but she also told me that the free dining was not available at the WL for a standard room, which is what we booked for.
So I figure that we have a couple of other options:
1. Upgrade to a room in WL that we could get free dining with.
2. Stay in the room that we are currently booked in and just pay for the dining
3. Switch to a resort that has availability for free dining.

My heart is really set on the WL because that's what my husband REALLY wants.:guilty: If it were up to me, we would stay at the BC/YC...but I really want him to have what he wants for a change. Not to mention we'll be celebrating our anniversary while we're there. But I also think it's crazy not to take advantage of the Free Dining. I'm really torn!

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Maybe there is something that I am missing...Just thought I would ask y'all since multiple DIS'er heads are better than one!

Keep trying for WL and you if still can't get it, even if you upgraded to the free dining room, then go for BC/YC. Good luck.

You need to see what the difference is between paying for dining ($38.99/pp/night) and the price of the upgraded room (is it more than $78/night?). If it's less, then you're still doing better cost wise to go up to a woods or courtyard view and taking the dining plan.

We already have woods view w/ free dining booked (did it during bounceback in November). We're waiting to see if AP rates come out and if they are high enough to allow us to change over to YC/BC, at which point we would give up free dining. We had some issues with our 9 yo during his birthday trip in February where he wasn't happy with the kids dining choices. I did make all my ADRs for August based upon what would make him happy, so if we stay at WL w/ dining, we should be fine. But if we can do YC/BC with a really good AP rate, we'll just drop dining and eat off site.

We had WL standard view and changed to POFQ water view--Cm told us that all left at WL was concierge level and that was $400 more than what we paid for our plan when we had paid for dining.

Bummer :(.

As I said in a previous post: You have not stayed at a Deluxe resort, so you are not yet spoiled by them. In addition, I don't believe that Free Dining is the best possible discount for the Deluxe resorts. If you had the 40% off code for your current reservation that is more of a savings than switching over to Free Dining.

If you don't already have a code, I would recommend that you switch to a different resort, perhaps a moderate and save some $$. CSR is two steps up from your last resort All Star Movies. It is the most "deluxe" of all the moderates. Or what about POFQ? It is the most "romantic" of the moderates. I really felt like I was in the French Quarter in New Orleans.
