What would you do?

We were planning to go to WDW (leaving our house) on July 12 (later in day) and arriving in WDW on Friday July 13 (my Birthday is July 14th- So I'm so excited to actually be there for my actual Birthday). We are planning to leave on July 29th to come home. Two years ago we went July 15-July 28 and last year we went July 27-August 13.

Now I've gotten the bright idea that since we have the 4th of July off anway and we were planning to take the Friday before our full two weeks off that we should take off one extra day (July 5) and go for almost 2 1/2 weeks. This would have us leave July 3rd after work and arrive around 6pm on the Fourth of July -Just in time to catch some fireworks after checking in. We would then return home on July 22.

My fear is that it would be much busier the week of July 4th. I'm not sure how the week after the 4th of July would be. The week of my Birthday I'm not worried about. That is the same week we were there 2 years ago and it was fine.

What would you guys do? It gives us 2 extra days in the world. We have AP's, so that is not a concern. How busy would that Thursday and Friday be during the 4th of July week? It may not be worth the extra time if it's so busy. I could do Sea World on that day, but then I don't want Sea World to be so busy that we don't enjoy it. We have a beach day and a LaNouba day, but it doesn't make sense to do it early in the vacation. We use those days for getting away from the parks during the trip.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Luckily I wouldn't be there on the 4th of July, except maybe to just see fireworks (unless we are too tired after driving all day).

The OP is correct in saying the 4th of July is the second busiest day at WDW. We were there in 1994 for the 4th. We were in Fantasy Land and wanted to leave. There were so many people on Main Street waiting for the fireworks that we had to be escorted behind Main street to get out of the park. I've never seen so many people there in my life.
