What would you do to change OKW?

I have encountered ones that are difficult to press and I just use the end of one of the wooden coathangers or my hairbrush handle.

A quieter Pappa's Den, more like the Iron Spike Room at VWL (the way it is now it is really just another part of the lobby)

An actual quiet pool (not adult only, just quiet as in no screaming, splashing, jumping by anyone)

Non repetitive tropical atmosphere music

The actual showers of OKW (and tub in the studio) are a peach color fiberglass (I think it is fiberglass) and the showers in the other DVC resorts are beautiful tile. Have you noticed this before?

I have noticed, but, I guess it did not register......figures!!!!
And....I have only been in one other resort and that was Vero and to be honest I could not tell you what was in the shower.
I will have to pay more attention.

Actually, I think Vero might also have the fiberglass. I can't remember (even though I have been there many times).

OKW91, were you there this July 4th week? There was a family from Southern NJ -- Tom's River or Vineland maybe -- and they had a great license plate "CUatWDW." I spoke to the gentleman at the pool; I think he was retired.

Anyhow, despite our little "wish list" here, regulars really seem to LOVE Old Key West!

As OKW members since '95, we love everything about it. For us, the two queen beds in the studio units are perfect. (Sofa sleepers are too smalll and too uncomfortable for us because we have boy/girl teenagers and while on vacation DH beds with DS and I bed with DD.) I also like the spaciousness of the OKW studios as compared with the other DVC resorts.

More cleaning and maintenance at the bus stops. On my last two visits I noticed that the overhead fans were not operating well and covered with grime. They probably need replacement. Someone should be assigned to hose down the rafters and bush away the webs on a daily basis. It could serve as the bus stop near the Hollywood Tower Hotel the way it looks now.

If you're using shampoo bottles and hairbrushes to flush the toilet, I think it's pretty clear that the button isn't the easiest thing to push.

While I've never had a problem with it, I wish that it didn't sound like an atomic blast.

Yep, does sound like an atomic blast. I was told it is because there is a pressure thingie in it that literally blasts the water out and thereby power flushes and saves water.
The button can be a pain for those who care about their nails, usually I have no problem with the button, but, there have been times when a nail could have been lost, but, as yet, no broken nails here.

We don't have a problem with anything at OKW. My grabdkids would like to see a slide. I have some personal problems with some of the HC villas but I understand they can't build one to just fit my problems.
Some of the posters mentioned a better control of kitchen inventory. I would like that.
Also the call for teflon coated pans is certainly needed. But as a former owner of a rental gulf condo we always had them equipped with coated skillets but when we would visit twice a year the pans would be ruined and we had to buy new ones. Never figured this out since we have used the same one at home for years.
