I'm taking my daughter a day earlier than the rest of the family. She never gets to do "princess" stuff because I have 3 boys and we seem to get over ruled. Anyway, the boys are landing at 6:45pm on October 22. I was wondering if it would be a waste to get tickets for MNSSHP that night? They will be taking the magical express to the resort, so I'm assuming they will arrive at 8:30 ish. They are 18, 16 and 12, so I'm sure they will be pumped up to be there and need something to do. We've never done the party before so I was wondering if you think 2 hours or so would be plenty for them. Thanks in advance!!

I wouldn't do it - their flight could be delayed, or there could be any number of other things to delay them. To me, it would't be a good idea to spend that much money ($60 pp) for a hard ticket event knowing you'd certainly be missing at least some of the party.

Even if they arrived at the resort at 8:30, they wouldn't get to the party until 9:00 at the earliest - is it worth it to spend $60+pp for only three hours of party time? That's up to you, but to me, it would be a waste of money.

Is there anything else they could do that would be fun that night, after they arrive? Do any of the parks have EMH that night? I'd try that instead, and try the party a different night.

Depends on your other plans. The party goes till 12am. Do they stay up late? or are they early sleepers? Paying $60 is still cheaper than a 1 day ticket. But if you have 3+day tickets it'll be cheaper to add on another day...assuming one of the other park will be open! 3hours at that time of night, they can probably get through many of the popular rides.

I think they would really enjoy MNSSHP, but I don't think 2 hours is enough. It might be stressful trying to rush to get there and not being able to see everything that awesome party has to offer in 2 hours.
Try Downtown Disney for night time fun instead. :dogdance:

I can highly recommend MNSSHP. We did it the first time last year and it totally renewed our love for Disney. The parade and fireworks are both top notch and the cast members that work that night usually are the grade A, best of the best and really enjoy the parties (from our experience.)

That being said, with them getting there (maybe) at 8:30, I don't think it'd be worth the extra $ and them really only get 3 hours maybe out of it.

I am a huge fan of MNSSHP, but in this situation, I wouldn't do it. I doubt they'd be at the party any earlier than 9:00, and only then if everything goes perfectly.

Ok thanks, I'll plan on another night. Do you have any suggestions for things they can do? I'm envisioning them riding the monorail all night.... ha!!

You are right. They do stay up late. I wish I could just decide when they get there.

We always go to Downtown Disney on our arrival day. It's a good, cheap way to be immersed in Disney and we start thinking about what souvenirs we want!
Swimming at the resort is an option, too.

10/22 is a Thursday. The chances of selling out is low right? 23, 25, 27 are party nights too. They really should offer a multi-night ticket. :thumbsup2

And is there an option for them to take a cab to MK from the airport? Maybe you can take their luggage down the day before and they can just travel with the bare minimum.
