What would you do? Is Crystal palace looking worth the cost?

So.. we impulsively booked a trip yesterday for.. next week! Next Monday is my birthday and just take a look at the dining reservation options. Spoiler alert they are mostly underwhelming. I grabbed an ADR for Crystal Palace to have something but looking at the menu I don’t like watermelon at all but they seem to there at the restaurant. I haven’t been in 10 years and the idea of getting entree and dessert basically for $59 per person seems excessive. Does anyone have suggestions for places using walk up list or any tips or tricks to get a good meal but doesn’t have to be Victoria and Alberts or anything. Obv it is a Magic Kingdom day so resorts fairly close or in MK that I am not thinking about? Thanks for any suggestions!

I would keep that (better than not having ADR) but also compulsively check for openings starting 2-3 days before. I’ve gotten lucky many times before :)

I was going to grab an ADR for Crystal Palace but looking at the menu and prices, I decided to keep my Skipper Canteen ADR instead. Last time I paid $60 for lunch was BOG and I was not impressed so I'm hesitant to do that all over again at a different restaurant.

In the MK, I like Skipper Canteen. Near the MK, I like The Wave and Whispering Canyon. The touringplans.com website has a dining reservation finder feature that can alert you if a reservation opens up.

Walk up is looking not great lol LTT is at capacity for walk up 2 min after opening. I need to roll with it and not stress. I will be in the happiest place on earth no matter what!

Narcoosees if you want someplace extra special (though the price tag won't be much less).

Whispering Canyon if you like something fun with antics and like BBQ food.

Tony's or Jungle Canteen if you want to stay in the park but spend less than Crystal Palace.

Are they still charging $60 pp even without the characters at Crystal Palace?
I don’t think anyone knows for sure. They haven’t officially posted the price yet. I am personally waiting till Sunday to see I guess

Well let me know! If closer to $34 maybe I will do that. Still though... watermelon madness?!?

Okay.. so.... I honestly don’t understand the hoopla on the watermelon thing. They offer two pre-meal items. A Salad topped with marinated watermelon and tomato and also biscuits. The watermelon salad also comes as a “plant based option”. This isn’t unique. Most family style meals come with the standard salad option and a plant based version.

kids meal option is just watermelon as the fruit starter. Not unheard of...?

Would love it if someone at MK today would check the price at Crystal Palace.

Chef Mickey’s shows the same price range when the characters return ($35-$59), but it will only be $42.
Hollywood and Vine is $55 and comes with characters. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Okay so according to a streamer that is currently finishing up eating there it is $55, and the food is awful. 😳
I’ll have to look into it more as more options open up, but yikes. That’s going on the “not likely” list.

$55 for a non character meal experience at Crystal Palace is ridiculous. This isn't a signature dining experience. It's not that cool in there. Disney has lost their mind on this one

I wouldn't pay that much for no characters & average food either. Keep checking for other openings esp 24hrs before you arrive. Go to Be our guest, Hollywood and vine, Garden Grill or even Topilinos if you can over Crystal Palace.

I read on another site that it is 39.00 for 10 and older, 23.00 for 3-9.
Also curious if you can request no honey drizzled on chicken...
