We currently have 2BR reservations at OKW in June. But, my kids would really like to try out AKL. So, I have put ourselves on 2 waitlists: 1) The full trip for a 2BR at ALK (Jambo House) 2) The last 3 nights at AKL (Jambo House). I didn't request to be waitlisted on the Jambo House, but the last CM I spoke to told me this was the case.

I just called to see if there was ANY availability (even 1 night) during our trip at AKL. She told me there was one in Kidani Village. I asked her to book that night and we would change our waitlist. Well, while she was checking on other things (nothing I asked her to do), the 1 night was taken. I understand these things happen, but I was a little frustrated. (no apology or even attitude of disappointment...) Thankfully, she hadn't cancelled our 1 night. Anyway, I am looking for our best bet to stay at AKL. We need a 2BR. Would it be a good idea to switch our waitlists to Kidani Village? I don't mind splitting up our stay between the 2 resorts, so would it be better if change our waitlistings to 1 or 2 days each? I understand I'm putting myself at the bottom of the waitlist by changing....

Thanks!

Kim

I am in a similar situation. We are in SS now, and want to switch out to either BCV (our home resort) or BWV. Basically, we wanted anything except the 2 available resorts, SS and OKW. But, we can't waitlist AKV or WLV, because we waitlisted BCV and BWV. It's annoying, I never waitlisted before, we usually just book at 11 months for BCV. (this year, we made a late decision to go to WDW) I wish I had time to keep calling for AKV or WLV, I would do it myself online if I could.

I did not know we could WL part of the trip, I would consider that, but maybe it would mess up our current WL status. I am surprised the limitations on the WL, the newer rules, are so restricting to members like myself who book only one trip a year.

This seems to be happening more often. We lost AKV Concierge because the Advisor didn't know how to use transfered points.

I was on the phone with a CM and I was checking availability on a garden villa at Vero Beach. She told me there was one for both days amd I told her to book them she put us on hold came back a few min later and told me there was a problem with the computer so she would have to transfer me to a manager. She left me and I ended up in a regular Que. The the next CM picked up and said how can I help you? It was not a supervisor, it was another operator who knew nothing about my situation I had to give him my name rank and serial number pint of blood for a deposit ( the usual chatter) after all that again I explained what I wanted the CM told me there was no availability
for the first day I asked for. I missed out on my vacation due to the incompetence of a CM with no remorse. I was just thrown back into the brook and lied to. Not too impressive for my second call to the DVC hot line.
I understand your pain :sad1:

You did not say if you were trying for a savanna view room, the standards are typically the easiest to get. The best thing to do is to keep calling back and check on smaller “chunks”.

Remember if you change your current waitlists you go to the bottom of the new waitlist.
