What would you change about WDW if you had the chance

There are a lot of things I would love to see, but they aren't going to ever happen, so I'll list the ones that would be somewhat feasible.

1. DDP back to what it was.
2. Go backwards and have 'paid' EMHs..one park a week. Morning EMHs could remain free to resort guests.
3. real coffee, not Nescafe stuff..yuck.
4. Finish POP Legendary Years and make it all family suites..suitable for larger families.
5. Add more buses....way too many people on the buses at busy times of day.
6. Fewer tickets sold for hard ticketed events..they are close to defeating the purpose now.
7. Do away with all the codes/pins/etc...just make seasonal rates. AP rates should routinely come out at the same time each year.
8. Close the park (MK basically) an hour before a hard ticketed event starts....would relieve all the moaning and groaning, as well as moochers.

Starbucks has locations at Universal and CityWalk as well as my workplace (ORMC). I would imagine Disney doesn't want to pay any kind of franchising or licensing fee to Starbucks...just a guess though. :confused3

You're probably right.
It's just that if Starbucks can get a simpleton like myself to pay $4 for a frappucino, :confused3 Disney should realize how much coffee they would sell. I mean, people are addicted to coffee!

Is the deal with the Nescafe people THAT sweet?:rotfl:

I would move it to California, right next to Disneyland so I didn't have to travel so far or deal with the bugs, heat, and humidity of Florida. The weather is so much better in Anaheim than in Orlando.

No way on the pet wings at existing hotels. I don't want to deal with pooper scoopers, dogs running through the lobby, etc. Not everyone likes dogs or can deal with the allergic reactions to pets.

Missed moving this thread to the ThemeParks Community Board earlier.

See ya over there!

Fastpasses. - Give a larger time window but enforce both ends of the Window.

DP - Cover food and tips or drop it all together.

No fingerscanners

Get rid of the large Rental strollers and have smaller umbrella sized strollers.

Kid free sections of Restaurants. Much like the old smoking/nonsmoking section. (and I have a kid)

Restaurants that have menu Items conducive to it - Kid sized portions of regular menu Items.

I wish they would update Pleasure Island...that place is depressing now.

Also, Star Tours and Indiana Jones need to be updated something awful. Surely there is something they can do to update both of these rides.

Seven Seas Lagoon area needs an overhaul desperately.

The cool stranded "pirate" boat on the old island is just looking dumpy now. I know it's hard to put anything on the island, electric & water wise, but couldn't they just put 2 cents of effort into making it look nice?

Update the boats on Seven Seas lagoon - I *LOVE* that they're still using the old boats, but can't we get rid of the noise & shaking from the engines? Boat owners: is that normal?

River Country... as much as it hurts to say, I agree, get rid of it... it's not doing you, us or the wildlife any good (unless you have some gators in those old pools). Keeping with the wilderness theme, what if the land is turned into an extension of the other animal areas, but but use this one for rehab of local wildlife? Doesn't have to be fancy or magical - just caring.

Bring the train back to Ft Wilderness! OK, the old train was torn apart, but how about a new one? Trains were Walt Disney's signature and hobby - we need 'em back! (If we can't have the train back, can we at least have a tram back - and let 'em whip around the corners and sneak past the armadillos like they used to - LOL)

Ummm... The lawnmower tree ... I honestly don't think my kids believe me that there's an old fashioned lawnmower in there with only about 2 inches of it still showing, how about a pic from when it was 1/2 grown in next to it? Or better yet - can you X-ray a tree :rotfl:

#1 Thing I'd change... PAY the CMs better!!! People have a tendency to put themselves out more for jobs they love, and it's so hard to love your job if your company doesn't even pay you enough to live on. What makes Disney Magical are the people who take care of the guests NOT the rides. Let's stop the turn over and keep the great employees!

Magic Kingdom:
-Turn the Swiss Family Treehouse into Tarzan's Treehouse and completely re-do it and make it more interactive and fun
-Re-do the Jungle Cruise's animatronics
-Have a permanent Jack Sparrow meet and greet next to Pirates
-Build a nice sit down restaurant in Adventureland
-Give Peter Pan's Flight a great update with better animatronics and effects
-Either completely re-do Snow White or get rid of it and put a Beauty and the Beast or Sleeping Beauty dark ride there
-Add an Alice in Wonderland ride to Fantasyland
-Get rid of Pooh's Playful Spot, build The Little Mermaid dark ride that was on the DVD next to Ariel's Grotto
-Add permanent Princess and Tinkbell meet and greets in Fantasyland (meeting in Fantasyland makes more sense than Toontown..)
-Get rid of the fair theme in Toontown and simply make it Toontown
-Retheme the area around the Tea Cups and Cosmic Rays and make a better entrance for Tomorrowland on that side (it's the one part of the park I don't think is themed well.)
-Get rid of the Speedway and use that space for a great new E-ticket indoor ride for Tomorrowland
-Get rid of Stitch's Great Escape and put a great new attraction there (completely gut it, don't just retheme Alien Encounter again)
-Give Buzz Lightyear a great update, change the guns (so they are more like Men in Black guns) and just refresh everything
-Keep Carousel of Progress but update it and continually change the last scene so it's up to date
-Give Space Mountain a big refubishment
-Add a great new daytime parade, keep Spectromagic but give it a great big refubishment and add better floats and more characters

Epcot:
-Get rid of Leave a Legacy and make the entrance to the park more beautiful
-Change the narration on Spaceship Earth back to Jeremy Irons
-Make the new ending to Spaceship Earth more interesting
-Either completely change Ellen's Energy Adventure or get rid of it altogether and build a brand new energy pavillion
-Put a really cool weather pavillion with an exciting e-ticket ride where Wonders of Life is
-Have a better themed Character Connection
-Add a third theater to Soarin
-Completely re-do the imagination pavillion. Keep a figment attraction but make it different. Get rid of Honey I Shrunk the Audience but put a new 3-D show there
-Add a Greece pavillion
-Add a cool white water rafting ride to Canada - but don't get people TOO wet
-Add some kind of Aladdin dark ride to Morocco
-Add a gondola ride in Italy
-Keep Maelstrom but re-do and make it longer if possible. Also add a seperate exit for people who don't want to wait to skip a movie
-Have more permanent meet and greets in World Showcase
-Add a parade at World Showcase. They could have different floats for each World Showcase country

Hollywood Studios:
-Re-do the Great Movie Ride. Add more recognizable movies and get a new script
-Completely re-do the area from Indiana Jones to Star Tours
-Get rid of the Indiana Jones show and put an Indy dark ride there. Make it different from the California one (so it won't be too much like Dinosaur) but keep the same idea and make it different each time
-Completely re-do Star Tours and make an amazing new Star Wars ride
-Change the Honey I Shrunk The Kids playground into a Bugs Life playground
-Somehow make the Backlot Tour more interesting...have a different preshow, add more interesting recognizable props, spend more time in costuming (since it's the only somewhat interesting thing on the tour to me now) but keep the Canyon I guess
-After Toy Story Mania opens add more attractions to the Pixar section of the part. Maybe add a Ratatouille restaurant and an Incredibles ride
-Re-do the Voyage of the Little Mermaid theatre. Make the show a little more like the Broadway version and don't skip over half the movie. Since the show would be longer make it not continuous
-Move some animators back to Hollywood Studios and make the animation tour more interesting. Add more fun interactive things to the post show
-Have more meet and greets and add a Giselle meet and greet
-Make the Beauty and The Beast Show more like the Broadway version and re-do the threatre
-Add a great big two-story Broadway type theatre to the park and put the Aladdin show from DCA there
-Get rid of the Pocahontas scene in Fantasmic, use the Peter Pan scene instead. Also add more Princesses (Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty) to the Princess part
-In general, just try to better the theming of this park

Animal Kingdom:
-Add more animal exibits all around the park. If I don't go on the safari or walk the trails I hardly ever see any animal except for birds and maybe monkeys. I like how at Busch Gardens it seems like you see more animals
-Re-theme the Dinoland area (especially the Chester and Hester area) since it's the only part of the park that doesn't have great theming
-Add a Fantasyland-like dark ride based on an animated movie (maybe the Lion King, Bambi or Jungle Book? Something with animals of course..) I would probably put it in Camp Minnie-Mickey or Africa
-Add another dark ride but make it more like Pirates with boats

General:
-Expand the monorail to Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom
-Add a pirates water park

Come on, disney111, don't hold back.

I haven't been to WDW in a LONG time, so maybe I'm forgetting something about it. But isn't Jungle Cruise a bit obsolete now that AK has a safari with real animals? Am I sticking my neck too far out there with this one? It looks like a pretty big chunk of real estate that could be put to better use.

That should do it! :rolleyes1

My guess is she's saying that her family is too large to stay affordably on-site (standard rooms max out at 4 or 5 people, and suites are expensive). So she would oppose fast passes that are offered exclusively to on-site guests.

I never thought of it that way. Makes sense to me.

Aha! I get it now...yes, that does make sense because that would rule out larger families with a budget just because they are a larger family. That isn't fair...that would go back to adding more reasonably priced rooms for larger families! :thumbsup2

Disney does have rooms for large families in the form of DVC. DVC has differnt sized rooms to accomodate most needs IMO. But it depends on what your looking to spend and how often you plan on going to wdw.

Yes, but the majority of people with large families cannot afford DVC. That is why I said "reasonably priced" rooms. ;)

Wow - you don't want to change WDW - you want to bulldoze it and rebuild it!

How about hard cards like the hotel keys for annual and seasonal passes. I'm always afraid their going to get ruined or lost, or (as I have done before) put them in a place away from harm and me.
If they were hard, we could just keep them in our wallets. Also on seasonal passes, put the blockout dates on the card so we could throw out the packet it comes in.

Definately get rid of Soarin', Stitch and Star Tours. Those would be the first to go. I'd add some additional countries to Epcot and I would LOWER THE PRICE OF FOOD!!

Vote for me in November.....:lmao:
