What would my fellow DVCrs do?

Next month, as part of a business trip I will be free in Orlando from about 2-3 pm on a Tuesday (driving from St. Augustine) till our (DW will be with me) flight leaves Wed at 11:40 am. All the DVC studios were booked, so I made a reservation at the Hampton Inn just outside Downtown Disney.

I have a question for my fellow DiS DVCers; I'm curious to hear what you would do with the time? We do have one day left from last trip's park hoppers

I'd spend the late afternoon & evening in EPCOT - probably enjoying a very nice dinner with my spouse at one of our favorite WS restaurants. We'd stay for IllumiNations and try to get on Soarin' at least once. After that, if we're weren't too tired, we'd stroll over to JellyRolls for a while.

The next morning, we'd enjoy a leisurely breakfast and drive to the airport - I like to get to the airport plenty early in case there are lines at security or if there is a problem with the car rental (we've been overbilled once or twice, LOL),. Anyway, I'd plan to get to the airport no later than 10 am for my 11:40 flight back home.

Yep, I'd go to Epcot for the afternoon and then dinner.

I would agree with Epcot.

I would go to Animal Kingdom and see why Mount Everest is considered one of the best rides in all the parks.

I say Epcot also. Nice dinner then Illumination!!!! Shopping the next morning!!!

I would probably head over to the Boardwalk area, as you then have access to 2 of the parks from there.

I would probably spend a couple of hours at MGM checking out the street performers, then I'd stop at ESPN for chicken wings, then I'd go to Epcot for IllumiNations.

Then I'd probably stroll around the Boardwalk a bit, hit a few of the shops, maybe over to Beaches & Cream for a late night sundae.

More than likely we'll hit Epcot for a few attractions, a good dinner, then Illuminations. Though I do like the idea of seeing some street performers at the Studios.

Well, as promised, here is a recap of our brief stay in Orlando.

We arrived about 2:15 pm and checked into the Hampton Inn on Palm Parkway, just outside Downtown Disney. Weather was just about perfect. Probably low 70s with a nice breeze.

Our niece and her fiance met us at the hotel at about 3:00. After talking a bit, we drove over to Epcot. Both of them are CMs so she got DW and me a one day park hopper and we we're very appreciative of this.

Decided we'd try to do Soarin, but were not too optomistic. As expected all the fastpasses were gone and the wait was posted at 100 min. Thanks, but no thanks. Overall crowds were heavy in spots, light in others.

Only attraction we did in Epcot was Journey into Imagination. It's not as bad as some people say, but it could be better.

We then wandered the World Showcase, did some shopping and decided to treat Niece and her fiance to dinner at Italy. All the PS for the main dining room were booked, so we stood and waited about 15 minutes for an outside table. Food was okay, but too pricey for the portions.

We then decided to head over to the Contemporary and walk to the Magic Kingdom. Crowds were heavy but not crazy packed heavy.
We did the following attractions
Mickey's Philharmagic - This is really climbing on my top WDW to do list
Haunted Mansion - still good, but needs a rehab.
Stich's Great Escape - 1st time, can say I've done it, that's about it.
Tommorowland Transit Authority - 1st time for Fiance
Carosel of Progress - Reaally needs a rehab.
Wishes - Great end to a great day.

Headed back out and to our hotel. It was getting close to 11 and Fiance had to be at work at Epcot very early the next day. So we bid our fond farewells and counted our blessings at being able to enjoy WDW for one afternoon and evening. Our next trip is being planned for March of 2007 so this was a great tide me over till then.
