What would be your optimal week to go?

We want to take our granddaughter when she turns 5 in a couple years. What would be your optimal week to go? We will more than likely be staying at Pop unless we can get a good deal on renting DVC points. Will do hopper and basic dining plan. It will be me, DH, DGD5 and possibly our kids (21, 21, 25)

First week of May. The weather is generally great and the crowds are very manageable

I’ve kind of stopped attempting to figure out crowds since it’s so busy all the time.

When you’ve got the entire year to choose from, I would consider events going on (do you want MK parties, or are they just going to cut into your MK hours? Do you want a certain festival at Epcot?), seasonal decor, weather (a big one, especially if somebody in your party isn’t good with heat), and resort pricing.

She will be 5 in January, but we're considering anywhere from mid-April to the end of May probably. She wouldn't be in school and weather is generally really nice.

Yep. We really like early May. The weather is nice, crowds manageable.

We also like January, after the holiday crowds. You have to watch what days the holidays fall on, though, because the crowds can linger through Jan. 5th/6th. We’ve seen MK almost dead on 1/3 one year, and 1/4 was one of the busiest days we’ve ever experienced another year. We are trying out the first week of February this year - lots of people have recommended that time frame. We don’t spend a ton of time at the pool, so cooler weather doesn’t bother us.

Labor Day week still sees low crowds, but that pesky peak hurricane season is too risky, IMO (our 2017 trip was derailed due to Irma.)

My personal vote is sometime in the first 2 weeks of May.

My vote is for May, anytime from the 1st to the Wednesday (the 20th next year) before Memorial Day weekend. Thats the time we always go and really like it, weather still nice, crowds very manageable

This is outside of your time frame, but I like early December. The weather is usually good, and crowds are lower after Thanksgiving and before the Christmas/NYE crowds start.
